I luv Whizzers character
Whizzer is introduced in March of the Falsettos, almost like a disruption. He’s Marvin’s younger lover, stylish, confident, and sharp-tongued. The audience first sees him in a kind of theatrical standoff with Marvin: their relationship seems sexy, combative, unstable. There's tension, there’s ego, and there’s clearly unresolved emotional baggage.
He’s not introduced with softness. We don’t see him through Marvin’s eyes with affection; instead, we’re told Marvin “left his wife and child for Whizzer,”
Marvin views Whizzer not as an equal partner, but as someone who’s supposed to fit into the domestic fantasy Marvin is trying to build—“a tight-knit family,” where he stays in control.
Whizzer is the embodiment of everything that was often unspoken in 1981, gay love, AIDS, mortality, tenderness between men.
Who can really hate him tho
