Thinking about the possible relationship parallels between Mel x Langdon and Collins x Robby in season 3 (inspired by this post)... We already saw on S02E15 that Langdon positioned himself as not wanting to be like Robby anymore... And then there is this quote by Noah Wyle saying that Collins was "the one that got away"... If the series wants to show Langdon going through a different path than Robby's and trying to not make the same mistakes... who do you guys think will be the one that he will not let go???? My WILD guess is someone with a blonde braid whose name stars with M an ends with el -

To the Kingdon Nation: what do you guys think it's a plausible endgame scenario for Mel & Langdon in The Pitt? Technically, Langdon will leave first and, even if he gets an attending position, him & Mel can't be attendings in the E.R at the same time, right? So maybe they work in different places or move to another city? My own private headcanon is that they work together in something related to neurodivergent patient care in the Emergency Departament, but I have no idea how this could work in-universe. What's your opinion?

What I thought was so telling in the last conversation between Langdon and Robby is that Langdon draws a line in the sand between them in something that is very very very important to him: teaching. So we see this character (that even after everything really wanted Robby’s approval in the workplace) do a 180° after that risky procedure and be like: “no, this is not the kind of teacher/mentor i want to be”. This is a huge milestone for Langdon and I cannot wait to see how this is going to play out in season 3.

What I DESPERATELY need to happen in season 3:
- Clarification on Langdon’s marital status (#ringate took 5 years off my life, I’m not kidding)
- Mel finding out about Langdon drug stealing should not be used as a plot device!!! THIS AIN’T GREY’S [Please read in the same tone as Dana’s “This ain’t Philly!!!!”] (we can learn that she knows about it in a line of dialogue in the beginning of the season, no problem)
- Not the biggest fan of this, but I think we need to meet Abby to better understand Langdon as a character and his arc
I cannot WAIT to see when Robby comes back in Season 3 and notices how close Langdon and Mel are, gets triggered (because of him & Collins) and says that their bond may hurt Mel in the long run, which causes Langdon to go absolutely ballistic and start to scream “YOU WON’T TAKE THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS MY BACK HERE FROM ME!!! YOU WON’T TAKE THE ONLY GOOD THING THAT I HAVE” And Robby’s jaw drops to the floor as Langdon walks away
Someone here posted that Langdon wasn’t wearing his ring on that scene with Robby and, as the invested IDIOT that I am, I went to check it.
He is wearing it :(
The finale really got me thinking about the future relationship between Langdon and Al-Hashimi... She ends the season in a very similar place (emotionally) as Langdon in season 1: alone, directioneless, afraid. Although I don’t think she can go past the whole drug-stealing thing very easily, the screaming match with Robby may let her see things in a different perspective, especially how Robby treated Langdon after he was outed as an addicted. Of everybody in the ER, I think Langdon would understand and have her back the most if she would confide in him about her struggles. And maybe Al-Hashimi can be a better mentor to Langdon, understanding (in some manner) what he went through after getting caught and “letting everybody down”. In The Pitt, being someone who “let Robby down” is devastating, and now both of them have been that person who did it.
Hope we find them (including Robby) in a better place next season.
