black ppl make aave or aave related joke > use aave with the community > we r all having fun > white and nonblack ppl find it > they start using it wrong and throwing it into random sentences > it gets bastardized and used as if it’s just a random Funnysound in a sentence > within a month people are mocking and attacking black people for “still” using aave that is now deemed corny meme speech > the cycle repeats

they really pulled in paul's ghost to say that ooc bullshit and coddle lestat lmaooo rolin's audacity has no limits 😂
lbr, that whole scene was just the ravings of a deluded madman, none of it happened. And if the show tries to pretend it did, and the ghost of Paul really showed up and said all that? I still won't accept it as canon.

The finale was so disrespectful to A. Zell Wiliams. A black writer who wrote 2x04 (one of my favorite episodes of TV this decade) and rendered loumand with so much beauty, tenderness, and nuance....and then was fired (with most of the room that season) in a "less than compassionate way".
Thats why Rolin was so eager to change the name and kept shitting on s2. He thinks he can do better than the black people he fired🙄. He wanted to ruin everything they built. Thats why everything feels so flippant and mean spirited.
He saw a compassionately crafted relationship between POC and couldn't wait to stomp all over it.
How a show's fans lifted my spirits years after working on the series.

a thing about me is i basically never notice a wig or other kind of hairpiece in tv/movies. it has to be party city territory for me to even twig it. people will complain about characters' wigs looking bad and i will nod along but there is like a 90% chance i did not notice for a second while watching. i consider this mostly a blessing.
Anne Rice and Rolin Jones with their copies of The Vampire Lestat. Rice at the time was working on an adaptation of the book.
The metaphor.

theres a reason u associate east asians with femininity and black people with masculinity and it has nothing to do with actual masculine or feminine “behavior” and everything to do with race science 😭 u have been taught race science, u haven’t unlearned race science 😭😭😭😭 READ A BOOK ABOUT RACISMMMM
when you have plans in the morning you can still live an eventful & fulfilling life afterwards but when you've got plans in the afternoon? well that's your whole day

Experimented a bit with a new way of detailing the tiles. Kinda like it? This particular piece took a hell of a lot of work. I’d love if you shared the vibes it’s giving off, for research purposes 💖
