With set photos of season 3 coming out, just for fun, here my analysis about shipping in and especially of Wednesday (Netflix TV show). Which is actually difficult because there are a lot of different directions to tackle this from. So let's do all of them.
1. What I think should happen
Aroace Wednesday. You can, in fact, just not have romance in there if it doesn't make the story any better, and as we saw in season 1, it doesn't. Wednesday is at this point clearly not interested in boys, romance or kissing, and that's perfectly fine. If they don't feel brave enough they don't even have to say the big "A" word, they can just have it not be a factor at all. To me that is what feels most appropriate to Wednesday, as shown on screen, in her personal journey, so far.
The show has one beating emotional heart, one key relationship that is important above all others, and that is Wednesday and Enid. This isn't analysis or wishful thinking, it's just plain fact. The split window is the iconic image of the show. Enid is Wednesday's introduction into this world, her polar opposite who she must go along with. Wednesday's growth is largely reflected in her changing attitudes towards Enid. Season 2's entire motivation is that Wednesday is worried about bad things happening to Enid. Enid's main moments of character growth come when Wednesday's in danger. They're team mates in every team task, they bicker, they swap bodies to understand each other better. They're who most of us are watching the show for.
And to be clear, that has been and can remain completely platonic, that's totally fine. All I ask is that they remain each other's most important person, the one they'd tear apart the world to save, and the one whose annoying sleeping habits drive them insane. Which is the case so far.
They do not have to kiss for this to be valid.
I'm 100% certain the show runners did not intend this, nor many other things about the show. But these two have amazing chemistry and for them to date would also fit great in their character arcs.
And let's be real, if one of them were a boy, this would be happening, zero doubt about it. They have that perfect "She's a/he's a/they fight crime" energy, like those guys in the X-Files, Bones, Castle, whatever. If one of them were a boy they'd do a will-they-won't-they for twelve seasons and then kiss in the mediocre reunion movie.
Wenclair is the only logical choice. Of course I don't think it will actually happen.
3. What I think will happen
It's going to be Wednesday/Tyler and it won't be charming or interesting in the least. The evidence for that is really simple: The show keeps bringing Tyler back, and when he's back, all the other characters say, "wow, Wednesday sure has a lot of feelings about Tyler". IMDB claims he's in season 3 and even lists him as the co-lead (which he's clearly not), so that won't stop anytime soon. This show is not subtle about its endgame.
The reason why I'm less than lukewarm about this is because the show doesn't have anything interesting to say about Tyler or his relationship with Wednesday, even less so in season 2 than season 1. Wednesday's most important relationship is with Enid, and even after here there are a lot of people before Tyler. Including e.g. Yoko, a vampire character who stands in the background of group scenes and hasn't had any lines. Tyler is just there to be an attractive boy toy.
There's actually this really weird but funny Cold War going on in the show, where the writers and the script are 100% convinced that Wednesday is into Tyler and what happens to him matters to her. But Jenny Ortega just ignores all these lines and plays it like Wednesday doesn't give a fuck about him. I applaud her for that, she's definitely making the right choice, and in a just universe the writers would realise that and listen to her. But as we saw with the kiss in season 1, there's only so much she can do when the script clearly says, "Wednesday has fallen for Tyler".
Bonus: Will Enid date Pugsley?
