Gloria meant ‘glory’ in Latin, a term oft associated with pride. And the last name? Pryde? That was an old and variant of the surname Pride. It was not truly her being clever or thinking that she was — she just liked the ring of the name as a whole, if she was to be honest.

it has a ring to it, he'll have to agree. he's rather fond of his own name. it's a surprise just how often people seem to be unaware of what the term gale even means. he tells everyone what he is from the get go.
