Ami pushed her thin rimmed glasses upwards preventing it from sliding further down her nose bridge. The lens looked as normal as any other eye wear to the outside world but what she saw was a profiling of the person who stood before her. She blinked a few times trying to grasp the situation, something the young spy still adapting too. She coughed softly to hide her embarrassment.
"I'm sorry. . ." Ami murmured to the stranger, tapping the sides of her glasses switching off its primary function. Assessing the situation at hand, her eyes scanned over the tall male before of her searching for any signs of injuries. "Uh--- are you alright?"

Long hair and fashioned trendy-like. The lonesome spirit repeated after her newfound savior, tilting her head as she could not seem to picture it. “Have a what?” Hanako chuckled, something that felt alien as it rose up to her throat, it felt like literally ages since she had a hearty laugh or even smile. After all, she was confined in that home. “Maybe you could. It helps since i can’t see myself, I’ll just see myself from your eyes and perhaps,” she pointed at Ami’s hands as she sat sideways facing the girl, “from your drawings. Are you good at it?” The question was asked out of genuine curiosity more than as a challenge to the other.
A slow, hesitant nod followed the other’s inquiry. Why did she hesitate even though she had suggested it? she mulled over this for a moment but brushed the thought off. “It’s somewhere along that way,” Hanako turned against her companion and pointed on the way she had come from. “Somewhere there, but it is a bit far. It’s like an old abandoned house? Within the city that I had landed on this place. It feels like a certain spot here has been calling for me but I can’t seem to pass through.”
“Yes, because only there could I sleep. I have been out here searching for someone I do not even know if they exist.. or whether they’ll see me.” Hanako replied to the other, “But by different, what do you mean?”
Hanako faced ahead of them where people just walked by, unconscious of their existence; Everyone seemed to be in a rush which she couldn’t understand why. She couldn’t grasp ahold of the concept of time anymore. Has she ever been one of those that walked without a care? Stomping on the ground with their heeled shoe, black suit, and face that seemed like they were way lifeless than she is? The spirit was saddened by that thought.

The curator’s eyes followed to the direction the spirit had pointed to her. The sudden rush of adrenaline overwhelmed her as she nodded her head and started to walk towards the house that linked to the spirit. She took in a deep breath to prepared herself, wondering how far their destination would be. Looking at the ground she exhaled loudly feeling at ease seeing her favorite sneakers. “You can’t pass through?” she wondered out loud while walking aimlessly on the pathway. Around them bright lights flashed about and the catchy tunes boomed about.
“It? What? Like a portal or something?” scratching the side of her head, tucking in the loose lock of hair behind her ear. Her thoughts was filled in with old movies she had watched. A range of fiction of extraterrestrial beings to the scenes before the cliché scare jump scenes that would often lead the leading characters and transport them to a different universe.
Ami rubbed her thumb against her index finger while looking at the hand that the spirit pointed at earlier. “My skills.” she began softly, “Its not at Da Vinci’s level nor do I think my professors were kind enough to give me the grades I’ve received.” Ami smiled cheekily at the spirit “But you have my word. Every detail. I will be able to sketch it” She nodded her head surprised at her determination and the sudden mirth building in her. It was awhile since she genuinely looked forward to do something. “I’ll try my best”
"You can’t see yourself?” the female stopped in front of a majestic looking building that house one of the infamous clothing store that intimidated her. Ami turned to look at her reflection on the glossy window. Looking at it she could see the mannequin wearing the clothes on display and on the side a reflection of herself and the spirit. Ami wondered what the translucent shaped human that hovered next to her see. “I suppose that could happen..” she murmured to herself, her head titled to a side pondering about the other beings that roamed about around her.
“Mmm---” Ami turned to look at her new company, taken off guard from the question asked “I don’t really know how to explain” pausing briefly, tapping her heels against the pavement. “I think you’re just different. It’s new. For me.” her words trailed as she looked away, flustered with her confession. The spirit that she is trying to rescue was different from the previous supernatural beings. The kinds who often try to distraught another living or simply not ready to depart and they had often did not try to converse with Ami. Not that Ami would be a willing recipient either.
Looking ahead towards the unknown location that they were heading “I guess learning more of the unknown added more to the reason.” wrapping up her conclusion, Ami took a step forward “I’m curious to learn more about you too”

Open starter: Alcohol, friend or foe?
Taeil had been out of a few drinks that night because he finally wanted to stop thinking about the possibility that he was no longer a human. Things had been strange since waking up that one morning and the singer didn’t know what to make of it. Maybe he was just seeing what his mind wanted him to see. He honestly didn’t know. He hummed one of his own songs as he stumbled down the street and towards the dorm. The young male was pretty intoxicated but he didn’t care because he knew he could handle himself in that state.
Taeil nearly fell to the ground but somehow he managed to keep his balance. The idol gave a soft and clearly amused chuckle before he turned into a side street that was a shortcut to the dorm. But halfway through it the dark haired male decided to simply sit down on the ground and rest his head against the wall of a house.
Her short trip to Seoul meant that Ami had to complete all the activities she had listed. The list ranged from visiting the Changdeokgung’s secret garden to the touristy Namsam tower to the cafes owned by several idols who her colleagues back in Tokyo pleaded her to visit. Ami smiled to herself, she earlier had previous ideas to bring back postcards maybe throw in some key chains to bring back home boy would they riot she thought to herself humorlessly.
The aspiring calligrapher tired and weary from spending a whole day sightseeing could not wait to return to the homestay she presently stayed in. A small cozy flat just east of Seoul, surrounded by officetels and shop lots Ami thought she had scored a good bargain. That evening was cloudless and she stopped just outside of a dim-lit building near to the flat she was staying to admire the clear sky. The skyline in Seoul was no different than Tokyo but it was different.
Making a L shape with both her thumbs and index finger Ami made a rectangular shaped as though she was capturing the night sky with her imaginary camera. Her smile widened, slowly lowering her hands when her imaginary camera lens caught sight of the stranger. Dropping her hands to her side, she clutched tightly her satchel and walked briskly passed him. It was then when she caught whiff of the familiar alcoholic scent that she turned slightly towards the male. The female hesitated, breathing in deeply and called out to him in a language she recently adapted to “Uhh-- gwa-- gwaenchan----haa?”

Her face lit up; hopeful and brightened like a lost kid who finally found their way home, “Really?! I don’t know how else I could repay you but someday once I regain my memories, I promise to give back if there’s any that I could.”

Ami leaned back on the bench hearing the spirit story that made her even curious. Her knowledge with the supernaturnal beings was little to none but those incident that happened before had been different from this. There had been intimidating some heartfelt as she recalled the memory of a elderly man calling for her helps to deliver his final message to his love.
Resting her check on her knuckle as her arm rested on the frame of the bench, her eyes roamed at the spirit. Unlike the being she knew how it looked like. It didn’t look like it was from a distant period of time. The curator noted the fashion the spirit had, making some mental note to prepare for her research in finding the identity of the unknown spirit . “From what I can see...” she paused, smiling softly in hopes to cheer up her new found acquaintance.
“You have long hair and its fashioned trendy-like” pursing her lips as she tried to gather her thoughts to find words to describe the other. “And---- and you have uhhhh----” Ami shook her head remembering the days when she played charades with her groupmates. She was horrendous at the game and did not emerge as a winner at the end. “Perhaps I could draw a sketch. Maybe. Or some sort like that.” murmuring to herself while she gathered her things.
“Shall we start from there?” she queried upon hearing the description of a location where the spirit might have originated. The description sounding like it would come from a horror movie did not surprised Ami, but the notion of visiting one was the last place she would. Pulling on the strap of her grey tote bag on her right shoulder she looked on the spirit mentally listing down the clues to their new hunt.
“You are really different, you know.” the words she spoke out loud, dreams where humans escape from their reality a philosophy Ami previously formed. Growing up not knowing her identity fully and learning the truth of her being abandoned had giving her nightmares during her sleep. Nightmares were reality unlike other’s slumber whose dreams that often masked reality would visit them. But beings like the spirit had also the privilege of that escapism too. Ami wondered what other experiences the spirit had. “And these occur when you’re in the house? Or do you often dream of this uhmm lover?”

She turned towards her, too, this time while the passersby did their own thing and busied themselves with the chattery. “Well.. first off, I would like to find out about meー I don`t know my name at all and as to why I’m stuck in this state..do you think it’d be possible?”

The curator looked on the challenge take place before her with fascination. She watched as the spirit tapped lightly on the male of a couple who walked by and later its attempted to create attention. The pair did not appeared to be bothered by the disturbance. Ami tilted her head trying to draw a conclusion of her own. The spirit before her seemed different from the one’s she had experienced before.
As she recounted her past, Ami did not realize that the spirit hovered over to the other end of the bench where she was sitting on. Unlike the other supernaturnal beings Ami could see them as though they were the living. However the spirit who was in need for assistance seemed to be different. She breathed in, recalling any memory of her late grandmother’s advice.
She smiled apologetically at the spirit, “I see it now” she verified the statement made previously by the spirit. “What am I?” Ami mirrored the question probed, she was flustered with the question. Unsure of herself she shook her head slightly “Wish I could answer to that” this time she asked out aloud, causing for a lady who was walking by to look at her. Ami smiled meekly, looking away to the opposite direction to hide her embarrassment.
Resting her arm on the handle of the bench, she tapped her fingers lightly on the green rustic steel pondering on the request made by the spirit. “You’re saying you don’t know your identity?” Ami hummed thinking of a solution to newest problem posed. “Well I suppose-----” her finger tapping increased in momentum as she tried to remember any of her latest clients that could assist “Well I suppose it’s possible?”

I know how it feels, seeing people who have the most perfect relationships, couples and groups of friends to confide in and feel completely themselves with. and then you look at yourself and wonder what you're doing wrong to not be in their position. but oh i promise you you're not doing anything wrong, you are not the exception to love or genuine care. you are deserving and you always have been, and there are people who are gonna come along and recognise that. you're going to feel seen one day.

The moment had brought her back to her younger days. Her effort to blend in such moments with the reality. Ami had always brought along extra props with her whenever she went out and met with the special guest whom had thought she was unable to see them. There were always instances where she did not have her props and improvising had taken a toll on her. Presently, she laid back onto the rustic bench, crossing her feet and looked nonchalantly at the spirit in hopes that their interaction did not ruse any attention from the people surrounding them.
“I’d like to see how they would react if they did see you wave at them.” Ami teased, her lips curved into a small smile remembering the times other supernaturnal beings had tried to scare the mortal beings, “Well your conclusion seems valid. It appears only I can see you.” She paused hesitantly as she tried to recall the times she had seen other spirits apart from her deceased family members, “For now at least” she murmured.
She remembered the final moment she had with her maternal grandparents, remembering the words that had impart by her grandmother to her. To assist those needed as best as you can the soft whispers still lingered in her mind till today. Ami had waited. Waited for the moment where she could help those needed. It was ironic, that she once did not believe in the other world. Yet she had waited for the day to come where she could use her gifts. And today was the day.
She uncrossed her feet and sat upwards, the movement seemed normal to the eyes of those on-looking at her. Folding her hands on her lap, she looked at the spirit “What can I help you with?”

“Hold onー” she called out to the other, “You can see me, don’t you?”

Ami did not believe in the other world. Despite having the special power (a phrase her grandmother would use to comfort her) of seeing the beings of the hidden world. It was when she turned four when her young mother abandoned the little girl on the footsteps of her maternal grandparents household --- and later was raised by the two quirky elderly couple --- that Ami later figured out that her special power had cause her parents to split and later left her in the care of the person who she inherited the extraordinary gift from.
She hated it, so much so she self taught herself to ignore the beings that float about her space. Ami grew up ignoring the hidden world and at the age of fifteen she soon realized she no longer could see nor hear of the spiritual world. She had celebrated it then with her grandfather (her grandmother was always disapproving of Ami’s denial in her gifts) the two of them at a newly built family restaurant having steak and apple pie. She felt amazing.
Till the day both her guardian met with an accident. Ami had turned eighteen and was excited for the third phase of her life had in store for her. She had left her dorm to go to the university’s library when she felt their presence. It was as though they were there but they were not. She had looked at the elderly pair but somehow she could see right through them. Ami stood at the court yard of her dormitory for a long time as she prepared her farewells.
Her gift returned but it was unlike her younger days; she could only see her grandparents and there was a glimpse of her paternal grandfather too. Yet today as she stood nearby a bench in the busiest alley in Tokyo that she saw her. Ami raised her brow at the spirit hovering before her. The streams of people walking around her and through her, the her who she realized was following her closely. She nodded her head at the question the ghost prompted, the sound feeling like a gush of wind swirling at her. “I can see you.” she whispered, while she sat on the bench. Her head turned to the ghost before her, “Should I not see you?”
