i havenât had soyeon for very long but i feel like i should have the courtesy of informing those who i have plotted with that iâm not going to continue writing for her. although i love her as a character and iâve wished to write for her since before summer last year, iâve come to realise that i donât really have the muse for her anymore; i think that died when i previously tried to force the muse with a fc i wasnât happy with. in addition, i canât come up with a single scenario that can develop her character further down the road. so, thatâs why iâll be dropping soyeon.Â
thank you to those who wrote with her so far, and to those who plotted with her.Â
There was something wonderful about waking up early in the morning next to someone she adores to death and back. After their tearful reunion in the airport the day before and collapsing from exhaustion once they got home to their bare apartment, Olivia for the first time in her life is actually excited and pretty happy to wake early for once. Especially, with next to Soyeon- solidifying the fact that it wasnât all just a dream. Â
Gently leaving the bed as to not wake up the girl next to her, Olivia shuffles towards the kitchen. She kept some of her kitchen stuff but has been living off paper cups and plates throughout the time she moved to their new place. Thatâll change today when she and Soyeon go out to buy furniture to make their house into a home. Till then, sheâll have to cook her best friend some well-deserved breakfast.Â
Soyeon is barely conscious when she senses that Olivia get up and out of the bed, the sound that escapes her so pure and innocent that itâs difficult to imagine she has any temper at all. It doesnât mean sheâs awake, which is obvious when she shift in bed to continue sleeping on her other side-- the sudden lack of warmth provided from the otherâs company has her snuggle up into her duvet, making her look like a perfectly wrapped burrito.
She doesnât know how much time has passed when she finally return to reality, but when she does she immediately realise that she is alone in the bed. For a short moment she forgot that she has moved into a new place and find herself highly confused. â...âlivia??â She calls out for the other as she scurry her way out of bed, still wearing a mismatching set of pajamas. âOh-- have you been up for long?â She beams as she sees her friend.
The gap between them doesnât stand for long as Soyeon close the distance between them, it feels good when she hugs the other from behind though she isnât tall enough to peek over the taller girlâs shoulders. Instead, she peeps from the side of her frame.Â
Her laughter struck something deep in the pits of his stomach. It was just as he remembers it but didnât think would hear live again. For the second time in that short meeting, he realizes how much heâs missed her. Soyeon has been one of those people who feel passionately connected with aside from their beneficial arrangement, mostly because they had similar wavelengths.
Seokwoo hums, practically purs in content, enjoying her attention and the way her fingers played with his hair. âOh yeah, that good. But now youâre little gap year is over,â mirroring her by sticking his tongue out too, âwhat are you plans now that youâre back and most importantly, you didnât anyone broken-hearted back in the land of the free did ya?â They both knew what he was truly asking here, but to Seokwooâs merits, he is genuinely curious to see what her next plans were.
Fingers trail from the lengths of Seokwooâs hair and down to cuddle the curves of his face, her touch so gentle that it almost feels like a facial massage; Soyeon knows precisely where to itâs best to press and where itâs best to ghost the fingertips along the skin. âYou know that the only heart Iâm out to break is yours,â her tone of speech as playful as ever. Although they are never going to step into an exclusive relationship she is faithful to their arrangement, always.
âI donât have any plans really, Iâm just gonna go with the flow and see what happens. I guess I should find a job somehow but I donât know what that should be,â she heaves a sigh when she thinks about the responsibilities that she suddenly has. Living alone for the first time is a scary step to make but at least, she has made it with someone that she trusts with her life. âYou tho, oppa? Has anything happened in your life since I left you, hm?â At âyouâ, she bops his nose.
After giving her a tight hug, he does allow her to pull back for a moment. It permits him just enough time to observe Soyeon in all her being and glory. She looked different and so was her aura, but perhaps thatâs what happens after staying away in the US for so long. The culture and people there are generally different from their own, much like Seokwoo knows the difference between the crowds in Seoul and London.Â
Without further warning, he does pick her back up again, throwing her over his shoulders and patting her butt playfully. âOh I missed this.â He sneakers, finding his way to the living room and dumping her unceremoniously on to the sofa. Before flopping down next to her, resting his head on her lap. âSo tell me everything? Howâs the US? Do they know youâre never coming back because between me and Liv, donât think we can ever let you go again, missy.âÂ
A single yelp escapes her as Seokwoo picks her up, only to throw her over his shoulder-- she should have expected that much from him and with the pats of her butt, Soyeon cracks into a laughing fit out of surprise and excitement. For a moment, she canât believe that she left such great friends back here in Seoul city when she left the country to live with her grandparents. It relieves her greatly to know that althought she has been away, their friendship is the same.
Dumped down onto the couch, as she is very much used to, she awaits his company. Fingers run through the locks of his hair immediately as his head hit her lap, they mindlessly play with and gently tugging at it from time to time. âIt was great, actually. It was almost like a year long holiday where I could do whatever I wanted to do~ And I missed you guys too,â she says with a playful poke of her tongue, followed by a hearty chuckle. âIâm here to stay now, though.â
She does not to ever let go of this blessing of a human being ever again. In fact, Olivia was pretty sure it pained her to simply part ways after their dramatic but definitely called for hug. She loops her arms around the other rapper, making a move to grab the otherâs luggage and rolling it along on her other side. Â
âHow was your flight? Did you get any trouble coming home?â Oliviaâs gaze and full attention remain on Soyeon, despite navigating their way around the airport into the parking lot. The younger was simply afraid that if she looked elsewhere her best friend would disappear. Olivia genuinely doesnât think she could survive that. âAre you excited to see our new place?â
Immediately after parting from the hug she adjusts her backpack to hang more comfortably on her shoulders, an arm swinging around the lower part of Oliviaâs back to stay close even when they leave the airport. âBoring, but the flight was free som issues. It kind of sucked to leave my grandma and grandpa, since they took care of me all this year, but yeah...â She sighs.
âIâm here with you now,â and to show her excitement she squeezes Oliviaâs arm even closer. It isnât like she wonât ever see them again, she definitely will. âI am supes excited though! How is the place? I reckon that youâve stayed there for a bit already, ye?â As they eventually reach up to the car she wait, impatiently so, for the other to unlock the vehicle to load it up.
there were only a couple of flyers left to give out now and jordan could feel the weight off his arm - literally. it had been staring to ache from holding so many pieces of paper up for so long, but now he was down to the last couple and he couldnât be any happier about it. all he needed now were a couple more victims to thrust his flyers upon, and then he could easily get rid of the last couple handing them to his friends and family and forcing them to take them off his hands. heâd probably threaten them about it as well and say theyâll be the next victim for one of his pranks and experiments. hearing that usually made people see things his way for a change.Â
âyou!â he was quick to spot someone, eagerly rushing forward (very nearly tripping over his shoelaces in the process) as he skidded to a halt. âplease take one of these flyers for me,â he wasted no time, holding one of them out towards the girl with his best smile, âitâs got all the information about trc on it. and youâd be doing me a huge favour as well. iâm almost through the whole stack. just take it. donât care what you do with it. please.âÂ
soyeon jumps in great surprise when someone suddenly call out for her in a way that she has absolutely no good relations to, only to turn around and jump once more when the male seem like he is about to trip over his shoelaces. with big, round eyes she stares at him while he beg for her to please relieve him of a single flyer from trc entertainment, hand hovering above her chest for some sort of symbolic way to protect herself from the shock. itâs certainly not unusual to be approached like this but soyeon didnât expect to be, especially not like this.
âoh, heh...â she is hesitant to accept the paper but not because she isnât interested in trc, that she most definitely is, if soyeon could choose she would roam the hallways and hope to meet none other than her celebrity crush, feeldog. at the same time however, she remembers on a time where this particular job was her own and in a way, she misses it. not the act itself, but to know that her dream is within arms reach means more than being bored in the cold streets. it pains her, slightly, so she smiles crookedly. âlet me take them all,â she suggests.
i know some who might want one as well, that way youâll be done quicker.â
yeji enters the bathroom towards the end of the lunch break, aloneâ she thinks sheâs alone in the bathroom but then she hears what sounds like crying. she turns around to the stallsâ looking at the multiple doors, wondering who it could be she starts touching each door to see which is open and which is closed until she finally arrives at the one the female is sitting in.
âhello?â she asks and knocks on it carefully, usually when people were in the bathrooms crying, did that mean that they wanted to be left alone? or wanted someone to find them? it was subjective but yeji believed people rarely wanted to be alone when they were crying. there could be many reasons why someone was sitting in the bathroom in school cryingâ but to her experience people did that when they had nowhere else to go.
soyeon gasps in surprise when someone calls out for her, clearly they donât know that itâs her but it scares her nonetheless. for a good moment she hold her breath, hand raised to cover a pair of slightly bruised lips; in utter despair and a failed attempt to keep silent, teeth dug down to strive for silence. obviously enough she didnât manage, and soyeon has been found.
the knock on her door has her jump slightly in her seat, itâs gentle but itâs unexpected. unsure how to proceed with the situation she keeps her hand to cover her mouth and nose, to make sure that whoever is on the other side wonât hear so much as another sniffle. âh-hello...â she says, muffled behind the palm of her hand. fuck fuck fuck, what should she do now?!
He felt absolutely ecstatic to hear that sheâs back in Seoul. He missed her like crazy despite never truly verbalizing it and it took for Soyeon to came back for him to realize just how much. Aside from their fantastic arrangement, she was genuinely one of the few people he enjoyed hanging out with. There was something carefree and chilled when she was around as if lifeâs worries simply faded away.Â
It took him just a few minutes to get from Nova to her place. Quickly navigating through the route, he felt slightly elevated by even just the thought of seeing her. Upon reaching her door, for a moment, Seokwoo considered just walking in without announcement, except not only would it be terribly rude but also a massive invasion to the girlâs privacy. Just because he helped get them this spot doesnât mean he can boss his way around it, so instead he rings the doorbell, fingers already itching to grab hold of his friend into a tight embrace. Â
Soyeon admittedly did not expect for Seokwoo to use the doorbell and perhaps that is a clear sign that the two of them has been apart for far too long. She rushes to the front door and the moment she lay eyes on him, she pulls him in for a tight hug. Now, Soyeon sure is a small girl but that does not, by any means, mean she has no strength, so the squeeze around his waist should be tight enough for the other to notice some slight discomfort.Â
While she might not express with words that she has in fact missed him, Soyeon does show it with actions instead. The embrace is held for a good moment and although she know that this grip around him is a little too much, she squeezes just a little tighter before she let him go. For the mere heck of it, and to prove a point. âCome on, come in~â She finally step away from the doorway to allow entrance and is more than ready to start catching up.
jeongyeon tends to do grocery shopping for the dorm. at first, her roommate joined her so they shared expenses. they still share the expense, but jeongyeon goes alone. it changed when her roommate got a boyfriend who likes to make unexcepted visits. rather than risking traumatizing images or sounds, jeongyeon uses groceries as an excuse to leave the apartment. truthfully, she enjoyed the act. it was a break from her friends and a busy life. nothing exciting usually happens in a grocery store.
âdid the americans not want you either? understandable, youâre just too ugly.âÂ
she was placing ramen packages in her basket when the malicious words caught her attention from the neighbouring aisle. jeongyeon isnât the type to put her nose in strangers business and headphones help with that, but with no headphones and curiosity, she rounded the corner. kids. the most vicious of them all. it brings her back to her high school days. luckily, she wasnât a victim of bullying. she was one of the popular students in her school. she was apart of every clique thanks to her smarts, looks, social skills, and interest in sports. sheâs the one students would go to when they were bullied. she has no tolerance for them. she doesnât condone fighting fire with fire but theyâll never learn without being on the other side; a bully to bullies.
when she sawâwhat looks likeâthe leader of the pack grab the girlâs shoulder, a switch turned off the lights in her mind. without realizing, she was looming over the group like a dark shadow, and with her height being above average, she can literally be the bigger bully. â donât you know itâs rude to take up the entire aisle? â she certainly gained their attention as some girls jump in surprise. her eyes quickly scanned the group when they turned to herâyep, the pretty clique. the ones who feel entitled to point out everyoneâs flaws because they have none. her gaze then lands on the girl about to burst in tears.
â is this the one you just called ugly? â she asks her while pointing to the leader. â listen, just because itâs true, does not mean you say it out loud. you donât get to tell her that one eye is bigger than the other. it can make her self-conscious.â
when a strangerâs voice bravely interrupts the ongoing bullying soyeon experience a heartbeat skip so forcefully that it actually pains her, she would never in a million years expect anyone to intervene. no one has ever really done that before but she guess that she can understand why that is, these entitled girls can honestly be incredibly malicious and she wouldnât wish this kind of treatment onto anyone; in some sense, she would rather be the victim than anyone else. itâs frightening to witness this woman step into the scene and though soyeon can tell that she has a strong backbone and wonât easily budge, she wonder what the comebacks will be.
she feels incredibly small as she observe what is happening right before her eyes, but not in a sense of being insignificant; itâs more that soyeon wish that she had the courage to step up for herself like this woman just did, who has absolutely no relation to any of them. she has to fight the urge to gasp aloud when the woman calls out dalha, the leader of this little gang. all of the other girls does gasp, louder than necessary just to emphasise the rudeness to their main girl. soyeon is rather certain that this is the first time that anyone has talked back to either of these girls and she has to admit that it feels great, despite the fact that she is terrified.Â
âwh-- what did you just s-say to me?!â itâs clear by the stutters that dalha is taken aback, as is also shown by the very pale expression on her pretty face. they are all visibly shaken by what ultimately has become a turn of events and one of the other girls proceeds to state that this is such a low-blow, and totally uncalled for. soyeon wants to snort due to the hypocrisy but sheâs too frozen in her stance to even breathe, suddenly realising that she has held onto it for quite some time already. her eyes shifts back and forth between her common bullies and the female who has came for her rescue. she definitely need to pay this woman back somehow.
they are clearly unsure how to handle the switch of roles and in the end, they leave with some nasty comments directed towards both soyeon and this mystery woman. âtha-- thank you,â her voice cracks and itâs barely audible, she speaks only when the girls has left the shop. she hate that they have the power to break her character like this, her spirit and her persona. this is not, at all, who soyeon typically is. she swallows, and looks up at the taller female. âyou didnât have to do that, i mean-- i appreciate it, really! ah... please, how can i re-pay you?âÂ
gahyeon eyes the stage as they continue setting up for the first performances, and she knows sheâd never be able to do something like this. it just felt so ⊠public â which was odd, because she did the mgas and that was broadcast on television and probably memorialized somewhere online. but they felt very different to her, somehow. â probably. â she responds, chuckling gently. â i give anyone who steps up there props though, i know i wouldnât be able to do it. â she sighs. â maybe now, but definitely not like ⊠a year ago. iâd be a mess before i even stepped out on stage. â she chuckles, shaking her head. â iâm excited though. maybe iâll see some familiar faces after this ? â she hums, smiling. â then again, these arenât always used as scouting opportunities. i know people who have been signed just because a scout saw them on the street â imagine looking that nice ⊠â she sighs, shaking her head. then she glances at soyeon, â although, that may be possible for you. â she points out before shrugging.
â thatâs good ! â she says, smiling brightly. â it can be tough sometimes ⊠it took me forever to settle into the apartment i have now, i have no idea how youâd be able to settle in after moving countries. â she sighs. although, itâs not as if soyeon had never lived in korea before, but it was still a big move and gahyeon couldnât imagine. then again, she didnât much like change and it usually took too long for her to get accustomed to it. â let me know if you ever need anything. i know i donât have much free time, but, â she pauses, shrugs. â iâll figure out a way to be there. moving sucks. even if it is moving back. â she points out.
â things are okay. â gahyeon notes, shrugging slightly. â trainingâs ⊠going. â she murmurs. pauses for a moment â â i guess that sounds very convincing, huh ? â she asks, chuckling lightly. in all honesty, sheâs tried to get back into everything with the same excitement as before â although now sheâs not sure if it was excitement or just anxiety. â iâm getting through it, i guess. i just had a roommate move in, too, so that paired with never being able to be back in the apartment to situate things is a little stressful. â sheâs basically lying, she knows â she took forever to actually unpack her own things once sheâd moved. but soyeon doesnât need to know that. â itâs okay though. just ⊠meh, yaâknow ? â
the more soyeon thinks about it the more she wonder whether she would actually dare to step onto a stage like this, to showcase herself to the public. obviously she would never sign up for this particular contest as she is no singer but had the theme been dance, or even rap, then itâs possible would have wanted to give it a try. itâs scary though, to picture a scenario like that, as her experiences in the past has been nothing but traumatising. not that it is really comparable, but soyeon know that certain people will use whatever they can to pull her down. even a small competition like this, should she fail to attain anything from it. she would still be a failure in the eyes of her enemies, someone they can pick on and poke at whenever they want.Â
the thought bring her back to the day when someone actually stood up for her, a stranger who happened to step in and intervene. soyeon sighs, the smile on her lips holding a sense of brief defeat. âi think thatâs crazy, being scouted just for looking nice." while she does appreciate that compliment she know that it isnât true in her case, she has a serious amount of failed auditions behind her and they didnât even want her for her talents. âbut youâre too kind, unnie. thereâs no way thatâs possible for me.â she laughs heartily although appearance is a sensitive matter. she allow the smile to linger and she nods to acknowledge the next offer, soyeon truly appreciates gahyeon as a friend and she is immensely happy that they had the chance to meet.
her smile is replaced with mild concern as gahyeon begin to explain her own situation and as gahyeon does admit herself, she doesnât sound very convinsing. âthatâs unfortunate though, it shouldnât really be like that. is there anything i can do?â and the moment she ask, she realises that she doesnât even know what exactly the problem is-- should she ask about it, or would the quesitons be considered prying into matters that arenât at all her business? as the two of them just recently met, soyeon doesnât want to step over the line. âbut a new roommate is exciting-- isnât it? who moved in, a friend or a stranger? i can imagine both scenarios could be stressful,â she chuckles, and is immensely happy to be highly compatible with her own roomie.
gahyeon didnât make it out of training often to do ⊠well, anything other than laze around in her apartment and usually watch some drama she needed to catch up with. today was different, however. after some consideration, gahyeon called up soyeon and asked if sheâd be interested in going to the winter singer contest. to be honest, gahyeon wasnât sure why she wanted to go, but it had been a long time since sheâd been out with her friend, and she was a little excited to get to see the competition. she missed being able to participate in things like this, after all. obviously not a singing competition, but still.Â
so, when soyeon had said sheâd be interested, she was more than happy to drag her friend along. they met up once they arrived, gahyeon smiling brightly over at the other and squeezing her gently in a hug. gahyeon was really trying to get better at being around her friends outside of royal, and soyeon was just the perfect person. â ahh, itâs been so long âŠÂ â she murmurs, as though they donât see one another occasionally as gahyeon records her videos. although she knows they donât usually chat much during those times anymore, after all gahyeon barely had enough time to find herself there. but still. â i canât remember the last time iâd gotten to see one of these things ⊠probably not since the triple threat challenge. â she sighs, and even then she hadnât been able to stay for long, dipping out after her boyfriendâs performance.Â
â but anyway !! â gahyeon says, sticking a smile on her face again. â how are things going, soyeon ?? â she asks, gently elbowing soyeon. â ready to listen to the voices of angels ? because iâm sure not. â she half-jokes. â i already hear literal angels sing when in practice every day, i swear ⊠these arenât even trainees and i know theyâll be like four times more talented than me. â she sighs.Â
soyeon never really had a big circle of friends growing up, only recently beginning to find more likeminded people to hang out with. although she has only been back in town for well over two months by now, soyeon has been busy-- she has moved in to a brand new apartment with her best friend, she has signed up with a dance studio again, and she has landed herself a job. all locations providing easy acquaintances. it has always been quite difficult to trust others but as of late, soyeon has began to have more faith in the people that she meet.
so she is glad when she meet gahyeon, when she gets to know gahyeon, and when gahyeon asks her if she would like to attend the winter singer contest. obviously, neither of them would participate as a contestant, but they would watch everyone else perform. she would absolutely have wanted to sign up if the competition was anything but singing, that of a skill in which she needs to improve greatly to perform like this. soyeon welcomes the hug with a tight squeeze of her own, holding the embrace for just a moment before she let go of the other.
âaahh~ same, i think itâs actually been years since iâve been able to watch something like this.â she wears a broad smile, attention shifting between her friend and the stage. "i am sure some of these will be trainees after today,â she chuckles, âand some probably will ruin their chances forever.â there are always contestants that really should not perform but fortunately for her, the lot of them will likely be entertaining enough. âitâs going well though, iâm finally settled i think! it has been busy but not too bad,â her smile reaches her eyes. âand you, unnie? howâs things?â
To say that she found her soulmate in Soyeon sounds like an understatement of the century. The truth of the matter is, as far as Olivia was concerned, Soyeon is basically her better half and now sheâs coming back. It was one of those long-awaited come back, heck even more so than any idol come back- this is her best friend for fuck sake.Â
She âborrowedâ or rather bullied Seokwoo into lending his precious car to her, while she picked up one of their favourite people in the airport, alone. Olivia practically had to wrestle that keys from his tree-like body. But when she finally sees her tiny angel come out of the exit, she knew that her struggles were not in vain. Shoving people aside as she runs past them, she almost tackles Soyeon to the floor if it werenât for her luggage. âSoyeon-ah,â she would, later on, refuse to acknowledge that she shed any tears during this reunion- a blatant lie that they both know- âyouâre back! donât you dare leave me like this again.â
Soyeon questions herself, as she does each and every time that they meet, how on Earth she manages to live properly without Oliviaâs presence for such a long period of time. The wait this time has been the worst because not only is she moving back to Seoul, instead of just visiting, but she is also moving in with her absolute favourite person in the whole world. To say that the other female is the reason that Soyeon stays sane, is far from exaggeration.
Refusing to let go of the embrace she laughs in-between faint sniffles that she will never, ever, acknowledge. âIâm not leaving anymore, Iâm home.â She gives one more squeeze before sheâs finally ready to step away, and allow for the drive to their shared apartment. So much happens at once and admittedly, Soyeon is a little overwhelmed-- but in a good way, clearly, as there is just so much to be excited about. There is so much she want to talk about.
     throwback to december 2nd 2018
urgent group meeting between amarante and the ceo.âŠïœĄïŸ
trigger warnings: mentions of sexual encounter, blackmail, humiliation
Considering the busy times Soyeon doesnât quite understand why Amarante is called in for the supposedly urgent group meeting and with the very CEO of Starship Entertainment, out of all people. Information usually is given to them through instructors, or through their manager, not the high and mighty himself. The five of them sit in each their own chair in front of the man the girls can agree to be the scariest person that they know, none of them speaking so much as a single word. The girls are waiting, yet he is stalling for whatever reason.
Soyeon is nervous without knowing why, eyes shift between the CEO and the other girls. If she dared to speak up she would ask what is going on, and why they are all just sitting there in an incredibly suffocating silence. As the youngest person in the room she feel insignificant, if they were to speak then surely it would be a conversation that Jihyun hold as the eldest and as the leader of Amarante. There is no way that Soyeon will be speaking, her gut is telling her that this meeting will not end well and she question herself what they have done wrong.
Is he joking with them? Will he break into laughter?
All of them are confused about what is happening, clueless. The CEO sigh eventually, which honestly is the only thing that can be heard in the office. âI am very disappointed,â is what he express after what feels like an eternity. Her heart beats so loud that she can almost not hear what he is saying properly, and so fast that she wonder if itâs going to pop out of her chest. âI wonder, does any of you know why you are here? I know that one of you does,â the question appears rhetorical as he likely know the answer to it already. What is going on?
His tone is difficult to decipher, there is something leery about it. Soyeon look over to the other girls, all of them looking exactly as big of a questionmark as she does herself. Wellâ, there is one exception. Holding onto the hand of Soeun she squeeze it in anticipation, and in fear. Itâs scary in the presence of the CEO, and his mood is not helping the atmosphere. Although heâs calm Soyeon know that he is angry about something that someone in their group has done, the five of them would not be there if not. She has understood so much by now.
âLee Jimin, why are you all here today, instead of practicing?
Your debut is only ten days away, isnât it? Are you not wasting time here?â
Eyes of them all land on the second youngest member of Amarante, who has been given the role of a sub-vocalist and visual of the group. Jimin meets none of their seeking glares, barely looking up from the ground with great shame printed on her very being. He sigh once more, a laptop is brought to the table and he turn the screen towards the other four girls who are dying already to know the truth about what is going on. When he press space a video play and they all know immediately what is going on, gasps are filling the room in choir with moans.
Soyeon has her eyes covered by Soeunâs hand, such a video is not for innocent eyes like hers. The sound of it reveal exactly what it is though, the dancer begin to feel sick because she has some idea what is going to happen. Their debut is in jeopardy. âPlease, sajangminâ Turn it off already,â Jihyun ask with tears in her eyes with her fellow members in mind. Soyeon as a minor, in particular. She doesnât know what to expect now, Soeunâs hands are relieved of duty when he close the laptop but the dancerâs eyes remain closed for another moment nonetheless.
âOur Jimin here thought that she deserved a better role in the group, didnât you? Yet instead of showing her talents she make use of other skills, in attempt to blackmail me. I will have you all know that your vocal instructor, Kim Youngbin, has been eliminated from our company.â Is that everythingâŠ? Soyeon question it in her mind only, sheâs so anxious to know the outcome that it appears that she forgot to breathe. Heaving a deep breath she prepare herself for what will be said next. âIn the lights of this event,â there is more⊠âAmarante will also suffer greatly.â
âIn fact, as of today there is no more Amarante. Thank you, Jimin, for opening our eyes about your true colours. We no longer wish to have your presence in our company. As for you other girls - Jihyun, Hyemi, Soeun and Soyeon, I am sorry but you will also no longer stay with us.â It canât be, none of them did anything wrong so why are they also punished for someone elsesâ crimes? âI have a contract for each and one of you that you will sign, that explain that you all understand what circumstances that we are parting under.â It really canât be, can it?
âWe are terminating your contracts affective immediately. You may leave.â
One by one do they sign the new paper that conclude their journey with Starship. One by one do they sob, and wipe tears off of their beautiful faces. As now the former group Amarante do they walk out of the office, with the exception of Jimin who is rushing past them. Itâs only when they arrive to the practice room where they rehearsed only half an hour earlier that they break down together, weeping and bawling their eyes out in a final group hug. The culprit is nowhere to be seen, and that probably for the best. Soyeon would probably strangle the bitch.
staying abroad with her beloved grandparents, on her motherâs side of the family, gave a lot of room for improvement. she had no worries in the world there; no one knew about her previous choices, insecurities, failures. no one knew about her, and no one knew about amarante-- she finally dared to be herself and she realised, eventually, that people do like her, for who she is.Â
that only lasted for so long though, as all that hard work on self-love went down the drain once soyeon bumped into a handful of girls from high school while out grocery shopping. if she had only seen them first then perhaps she would have managed to avoid the situation, but soyeon wasnât so lucky-- she was spotted first. âyou dare returning back here, huh?â they laugh at her.
âdid the americans not want you either? understandable, youâre just too ugly.â soyeon doesnât know what to say and even if she did, she canât find the power or energy to utter a single word in defence. what can she say, anyway? to make them stop? the grip on her grocery basket is tight; she try, with all her might, to prevent the tears from building up in the corner of her eyes.Â
against her chest she can feel her heart pumping hard, she just want to leave and that is what she tries to do, only to be dragged back in place by a firm grip on her shoulder. âwhere do you think that youâre going? donât you know itâs rude to leave in the middle of a conversation?â itâs never going to stop. if only possible, soyeon wish for the floor beneath to swallow her whole.Â
with each and every step that soyeon takes, she wonder how good of an idea this truly was. it obviously sounded like the best one when she suggested it to her friend but unfortunately, she soon realised that she has no clue what she is doing; who could imagine that walking dogs for samsung, or anyone else for that matter, would be this scary? conflictive?
âwhat do i do with this ball of fluff?â soyeon asks with her eyes glued to the puppy roaming the streets in front of her. perhaps the staff werenât all too smart about giving her a dog so fresh to this world that everything is exciting, but at the same time, the bigger ones frightens her. partly she wants to just, pick it up, but that would defeat the purpose of a dog walk.Â
âunnie, iâm scared-- i donât want to hurt him,â she glances over at eunbi with puppy eyes of her own. itâs for a good cause, she keeps telling herself, she just has to walk him.
