Shaunie shook her head and chuckled, “We all could use improvements Professor, the moment you stop learning, is the moment you die.” She smiled, and sat back, to stretch out her body, she was very much relaxed right now. Hearing Phillip’s comment, made her laugh, “I am smart, so I’ll look for other ways to improve.” She knew this was the moment, that she needed to grab her things and go. It wasn’t like he was going to keep her around two much longer. She was a bit shocked that he asked her to eat, but she wasn’t going to act like this was more than what it was. “As much as I would like that, I am going to have to pass, I have to get my notes from the class I missed, and study. So I will take a rain check on food.” She got up and grabbed her clothes.
This part always felt weird for Phillip. Whoever he slept with normally left right after. Oddly, he didn’t want that with Shaunie, and at the same time, he didn’t think it was right to ask her to stick around either. Her answer made him feel like he’d just been kicked in the gut, but the feeling was fleeting and before he could allow himself to get hurt, he nodded at her, “Yeah, I should get some work done too.” He told her with a small smile before getting his clothes and putting them back on swiftly. “Well, I guess, I’ll see you then.” He said once he was dressed.
