A central part of the first life is strange game is how anxious Max is. Even with a superpower that trivialises most of the consequences her actions could have she constantly struggles with making the right choice. She can go back and forth several times and still doubt whichever decision she lands on.

Except for kissing Chloe. She doesn’t second guess that decision for a moment.

i've seen it discussed as a weak point in reunion that max looks at chloe with the same big puppy dog eyes that she uses when chloe's been dead for a decade, even if chloe was alive and they'd just been broken up for a few years, but i actually think that's a highlight for me. i think max gives chloe the same wet tissue paper look when chloe comes back from the grocery store.
