They’re snarking. Honestly when aren’t they? But this time it started different. All day it was challenge after challenge. They hadn’t stopped insulting and trading quips since she’d gotten to his apartment and they’d popped in movie after movie that served as little else but background noise to their sarcasm. This was the first glimpse of silence Jim’s run-down apartment had seen in hours and it started with a phrase as innocent as “make me”. Okay so maybe he’d been staring at her lips for twenty minutes straight before that moment. Maybe he hadn’t. And maybe he knew exactly how to bait her. Maybe not. Either way her lips were soft against his own despite the aggressive way she pushed against him and he pulled her onto his lap, grinning. “I win”
