hey, thanks! // ace & croc.
āWait.ā Crocodile commands gruffly, grabbing the collar of Aceās sweater with his hook. āMaking dinner. Itās cold. Come have a drink.āĀ
He lets go of the collar, not bothering to hold the door for Ace. The gift seemed to have sparked something in him, though he wouldnāt admit it even to himself and tried with all he had to stomp it out. Call it a ghost of who he used to be, back when he was Aceās age, some bond heād never dare voice. He justified it with the fact that even at his stature and age, he still didnāt know how much pasta to cook for just one person.
Sweater ruined.
Good thing he was wearing it as a joke; although, heās not sure if Crocodile is privy to the irony in donning the garment. He feels a bit bad, like he mightāve guilted Crocodile into it ... But on second thought, he figures the Shichibukai probably wouldnāt succumb to feelings of guilt.
So he did this completely of his own volition.
It couldnāt make Aceās grin wider as he traipses into Crocodileās house for the very second time. He takes off his boots and follows him inside more.
He pointedly does not tease him for the gesture of inviting him in, though part of him wants to. The bigger part of him is just grateful for the company; a couple of the commanders had set sail, leaving him feeling lonely again.
He hates feeling lonely.
So he goes, āThanks, Sir. Even if you put a giant hole in my sweater.ā
