I love you, daddy.
Iâm such a daddyâs girl! This was me and my daddy on my wedding day
What would I give to live where you are. What would I pay to stay here beside you. What would I do to see you smiling at me. Where would we walk. Where would we run, If we could stay all day in the sun. Just you and me and I could be part of your world.
The Little Mermaid came out on this day 28 years ago; so hereâs a clip of Howard Ashman coaching Jodi Benson through âPart Of Your Worldâ

My favorite Disney princessâ¤ď¸
âMy most favorite moment [in the making of The Little Mermaid] was, after years of being serious and being very strict [with the recording] â because you have to be strict with animation because of the timing, the picture and that kind of thing â and I was strict with it, but I kept doing things. I kept being naughty and doing things, and theyâd say, âSam you canât do that. You canât make up little jokes on the side.â [Samuel shrugs.] Okay.
âSo about a year after we completed recording the film, they called me up and said, âSam. weâre going to fly you out here, okay?â I said, âWhy? I thought you were finished.â They said, âAll of those things we told you you couldnât do? Youâve got 3 hours to do all of them!â
âSo they brought me into the studio, turned the mic on, and I went nuts! I said anything I wanted to say as Sebastian. I talked like him for 3 hours! And some of it found its way into the movie. For example, âTeenagers they think they know everything. Give them an inch, they swim all over you.â That was something I just made up! So it was a lot of fun.â
