Scire has reached 100 kudos and over 1k hits! I was definitely not expecting to hit these numbers with only three chapters of the fic published, so I'm pretty hyped right now. I'm excited to see how Scire progresses in the future!
My beta readers and I talked about how Scire could potentially be 100+ chapters by the time it's complete, but I doubt I'd be able to write THAT much. On the other hand, it is tagged as 'slow burn' so...

The Doctor has long since forsaken his "humanity." Out of contempt for the gods, he reaches into the endless abyss and seeks the knowledge they worked so hard to hide. Out of spite for the people who condemned his pursuit of the truth and called him a monster, he wears human skin to hide his abhorrent nature and blends in with the common folk.
To be a monster is to hold no regard for the lives of others, to relish in their misery and suffering. Therefore, he should not be so invested in keeping Regrator alive. He should not enjoy being in the Ninth Harbinger's company or bantering with the man. It goes against the very laws of this world.
It is an experiment, he tells himself, but the subject is not Regrator. It is himself. He is curious to see how long he can pretend to be kind. How long he can pretend to have a heart in his rotten, unfeeling chest.
He wants to see how long he can pretend to be "human."

Dottore's subordinates love it when Pantalone visits because it means Dottore is more likely to be forgiving and merciful of their mistakes.
Pantalone's subordinates slowly stop fearing Dottore because he is no longer interested in experimenting on them. In fact, Dottore is the first one they go to when Pantalone is in trouble.
Dottore's and Pantalone's subordinates end up mingling so much that it feels like they serve two Harbingers instead of one. They're like Dottolone's unofficial children
Dottolone Love Language Headcanons
Dottore: physical affection, quality time, allows Pantalone into his secure labs, will torture/kill anyone who hurts Pantalone
Pantalone: quality time, gift-giving, allows Dottore more leeway with debts, will destroy anyone who hurts Dottore (methods tend to be self-destructive, much to Dottore's disapproval)
