SHOUT OUT TO EVERYONE WHO STILL TRIES TO GET BACK INTO THE SWING OF THINGS AFTER DEPRESSION HIT THEM HARD. THERE ISNâT ENOUGH RECOGNITION FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THAT THEYâRE GOING TO LOSE INTEREST AND MOTIVATION AGAIN BUT PUSH THEMSELVES TO DO STUFF ANYWAYS. YOU ARE FIGHTING A DAILY BATTLE WITH YOUR OWN THOUGHTS AND YOUâRE STILL COMING OUT ON TOP, YOUâRE ALL BRAVE AS FUCK

Why are people having so much issue with the article, I agreed with it? The title isnât the most eloquent thing ever but the article wasnât encouraging cheating, where you go behind your partners back, but instead looking at the issue of cheating as a not black-and-white thing where thereâs one horribly evil person who just wanted to have fun/get laid with one traumatized-for-life victim. Instead, like most- nah, let me say with ANYTHING in real life beyond fiction, the article sees the grays in cheating and why the person cheated in the first place. Not to say that cheating isnât a horrible thing to do, but I feel like people need to understand that there are reasons people do the things they do. People who cheat are human beings. They could feel horrible about it, they could be trapped in a marriage or relationship that they donât feel they can escape, they can feel insecure and unloved. Again, not to say itâs something you should ever do, but dehumanizing someone over a mistake is just as bad in my opinion. Thereâs nowhere where they can talk about their experiences, and itâs likely we know a lot of people who have cheated in our lives even if they havenât (or were too scared) to tell us about it.Â

âMarie Antoinette (2006)
Just so everyone is clear, the handsome Black man tutoring Marie Antoinette is Joseph Boulogne, classical musician extraordinaire whose work influenced Mozartâs. This has been your Western music history tidbit of the day. Adieu!Â

Although Marvelâs comics feature myriad characters varying in gender, race and sexuality, since the launch of Marvelâs Cinematic Universe nearly a decade ago, its first 17 movies have centered on white men. Wakanda and its inhabitants are the bliggity blackness we have been waiting on to arrive at center stage, impatiently tapping our watches like, âWhatâs good, Marvel?â
While representation and the expression of our narrativesâ well-known franchises are significant, is is equally important to support the wealth of fantasy and sci-fi literature, comic books, graphic novels, TV and web series, movies, platforms and events created for black people, by black people.
Since the beginning of time, when we have not been included, we have created our own. HBCUs, black-owned businesses, black houses of worship, black social organizations and The Root itself are fruits of our resilience and creativity in the face of adversity. The books Afrofuturism: The World of Black Sci-fi and Fantasy Culture and The Encyclopedia of Black Comics are fantastic evidence of this rich hub of black art. To further elaborate, here is an inclusive (and intersectional) guide to black art and artists in the genre to support, ranging from emerging to longtime favorites.
