Dark Blue || Alex & Gavvin

Alex wanted to… be with him? Oh, he corrected himself. Stop thinking and assuming things so quick, that’s exactly how you’ll get hurt — it’s exactly what your mother told you. Nonetheless, the smile still played on his lips and let out a small giggle, “I wanna be with you too” he returned the obvious desire but also confusing. Gavvin has never, ever been in the position of liking someone. How do you know when you like someone anyway? When you can’t stop smiling around them and you get that heavy, nervous feeling weighing at the pit of your stomach? Well —- he was having those feelings. The smile more so then anything. He could feel his cheeks becoming a bit sore and tightened from the constant smile that never left his lips. He shook his head from his thoughts and returned his attention back on what Alex was saying. He looked over where he pointed and then back at the boy’s face, “I’ll meet them soon. Just… not now. Not ready” he said, shaking his head but his tone noticeably much calmer than the last time he said that. Probably because their bodies were contacted.
Alex's eyes darted down to the denim that covered his legs right as what he had let slip out was thrown back at him, as if that would do any good to hide the look those words put on his face. It sounded sincere, however Gavvin meant it. Alex did notice one thing, though. Gavvin didn't take the time to correct himself, and now Alex was kind of regretting doing it himself. His eyes flew right back up, unintentionally locking their gazes and intentionally making no effort to pull them away from his new friend's for a second or two. He liked them, he saw something in them that set Gavvin apart from everyone else. Maybe it was the hypnotizing hazel hue of them or maybe it was the way he looked at him, but there was definitely something within them that surpassed just a simple, dull color and a reflection of himself. Alex nodded understandingly, not wanting to make the boy feel uncomfortable. Quite the opposite, actually. "Whenever you're ready, doesn't really matter when that is to me" he agreed, honestly not in the biggest hurry for that day to come along. He kind of liked how it felt like there was nobody else around when he was with Gavvin, what if being around his other two friends changed that? "So," Alex started, unsure of how much time remained of their lunch period but it probably wasn't long. "Me, you, here- tomorrow, right?" he asked, pointing down to the table they sat at as he spoke of it. He just needed to make sure because he could hardly believe this had happened today, that Gavvin would want to sit with Alex of all people.
