3 of Pentacles
Lord of the Poison of Prudence
Opus Tenebrae: The Qliphothic Tarot
Draft / Visual concept by Ial Created by Ial, Avatar of the Abyss
The Three of Pentacles corresponds to the Qliphah Samael. Having shattered the illusion of profit, the adept now faces the necessity of overcoming the stereotype of humble, diligent labor that supposedly brings income and success.
Symbolic Architecture
The card depicts a man seated at a table, inscribing a pentacle with a sharp tool. Two completed pentacles lie beside him on the table, and nearby stands an ornate cup with a serpent motif, from which violet smoke rises. Two men stand behind him like overseers, watching his work.
The cup of venom with the serpent is a symbol of the Qliphah Samael.
