Albert Camus, from a letter to María Casares featured in Correspondance, 1944-1959
THE PRINCESS BRIDE 1987, dir. Rob Reiner
What could you possibly think you were going to accomplish?
Stalking social media, finding a friend of a friend and inserting yourself into someone's life, telling them something that not only isn't true, but would be completely irrelevant even if it was.
For what purpose?
You're smarter than that, and I always thought you were better than that.
It's not the first time I've been wrong, and it won't be the last. Also not the first time I've thought too much of someone.
You're making an ass of yourself.
I'm disappointed, but I guess you're just another in a long line of them.
Grow the fuck up.

C-PTSD is not as simple as PTSD.
With PTSD, the alarm was triggered by one huge fire. Even after the fire is out, the alarm keeps going off when it detects anything that reminds it of that fire.
With C-PTSD, the alarm lived in a house where there was smoke every day for years. It learns that danger is constant, so it stays on high alert almost all the time. Over time, it can change not only how you react to danger, but also how you see yourself and other people.
PTSD: “Something terrible happened to me.”
C-PTSD: “Terrible things kept happening to me, and they changed how I experience the world and myself.”
THE CROW (1994) dr. James O'Barr
“It’s easier to think positive for others than for myself.”
