When Hogwarts Legacy came out, #JK Rowling and #Hogwarts Legacy were trending on Tumblr for about a week. Almost 100% of the posts in those tags were people mocking, shaming, or otherwise meme-ing on the game and Rowling’s rancid evil despicable behavior. As we should. As we should. Speaking about our denouncement of transphobia is important. But how come Tennessee’s latest LAW (not bill), that is enforcing all citizens “dress accordingly to the gender on their birth certificate,” is getting 0 response. Nothing. I get it, there is a lot going on everywhere, and normally I am not the kind of person to be like “Hey everyone, look at my problems!” But it does confuse me. Why do we draw attention to a transphobe who is easy to mock and clown on, but we don’t draw that same attention when real young trans queer lives are going to actually really IRL be affected? let’s be real. We all hate JKR, we all hate what she says and we all know how vile and dangerous she is. But her game did not kill anyone. This law will. Let’s talk about it
