I have autism and communication disabilities so patience is appreciated. Due to my autism I may have a hard time with understanding or communication sometimes and I may need extra interpretation..

I want to say happy disability pride month to everyone who has any kind of disability, but also to people like myself who have communication disabilities. I am diagnosed with autism and auditory processing disorder.

Communication has always been very hard for me I have a very difficult time understanding what people are saying and detecting certain things in conversations. Also with my auditory processing disorder I sometimes have a very hard time processing what I am hearing. Even if someone is speaking the same language to me sometimes it sounds gibberish because my brain cannot always make sense of what my ears are hearing.

I often have a difficult time expressing myself and what I actually mean. I’m constantly trying to better myself so I don’t accidentally say something bad if I am not able to detect that it is bad. No one teaches me and it is hard sometimes. Communication disabilities are no joke. I often feel very left out and isolated, but luckily I have an an awesome friend who fully understands me. Some of my loved ones think maybe learning some sign language would be beneficial for me. Anyone who has this type of disability especially I SEE YOU.
