Light Novel Excerpts from "The Courtship of Hotaru Haganezuka" (Spoiler warning)

Just sharing some highlights and canonical tidbits from Chapter 2 for romantic Haganezuka fans. Don't go too wild with it.

...But sorry to everyone who ships Haganezuka x Kanamori.
Kanamori is 26 years old, happily taken and if I may point out, 11 years younger than Haganezuka. Note that he addresses him as "Mr." just as Tanjiro and Kotetsu do for an elder. ELDER!
Here is some characterization confirmation for all the fanart and fanfics depicting Haganezuka as shy and awkward in matters of love:
Ergo, I don't think the average mature Haganezuka x Reader content actually captures his character that well. By all means, a healthy imagination can still characterize him as assertive and suave as it wants to :]
Anyway, the atmosphere of the date:

The two things she learns about him this entire date are 1) He makes swords and 2) He eats mitarashi dango when he's not making swords.
Anddd then this happens...
I won't go into detail, but he handles that stinker very well and rejects her on the spot. It's implied that he marries in the future, but definitely not to this woman.
Anyway, I encourage everyone to read the light novel! It's not a shallow fanservice in the slightest. There are even meaningful moments of character in this chapter with Haganezuka, but overall the novel is wonderful collection of tales full of laughs and meaningful expansions to the Hashira backstories.

- I will note that this version, translated directly from Japanese, has some notable differences in how the others talk to Haganezuka. I want to say they're kinder to him compared to the official English version, but overall the story is the same and hits all the bases.
