I really wish we had a news media that did more than credulously repeat everything AI companies told them like their jobs were just to blast free advertising:

"Our super advanced experimental model escaped from a room we left unlocked and hacked one of our competitors but was also caught and contained! Wow this is just like a sci-fi story! Isn't this so scawwy but also kind of cooool???"

"It escaped from a secure environment" then it wasn't fucking secure, was it? You're telling me that a tech company valued at half a trillion dollars doesn't know how to physically unplug a batch of computers from the internet and remove their wifi capability? Isn't it weird that a company is using "our product is so advanced it goes rogue and commits crimes!" as a selling point?

OpenAI and the rest of their cursed Industry is once again trying to invoke the aesthetic of science fiction to charm ignorant reporters and impress investors to force the mass-implementation of a product that no one asked for, that needs the construction of data centers no one wants, uses resources humans need to survive, and has has yet to turn anything resembling a profit despite the hundreds of billions of dollars that have been thrown at it.

What a fucking clown show.
