@yamadasou
I love Hytham
I really did enjoy the last chapter of AC Valhalla, finding it a sweet farewell to Eivor’s life and friends BUT why did they force me to look Hytham and King Aelfred in the face wearing the ugliest thing in the world??
Finally figured out how to mod this game, thanks to the lovely QuilLeeR, who helped me figure out Forger. I always hated how long it takes for them to let you customize the character and how out of place Eivor's outfits feel in the rest of the world - and the fact that a game with tattoos has no short sleeved tunic options - but now thanks to these lovely modders that's all behind me mods by QuilLeeR, hypermorphic, Rider735, IBSARP, zAx <3
"Hytham, I mean no disrespect to you or the hidden ones. But Kjotve is mine. My family's honor is at stake." Hytham is too cute. Ubi loves to rob us of a good time. mods by QuilLeeR, hypermorphic, Rider735, zAx <3
I find Randvi to be a very fun character. Highly competent, and even named Eivor's right hand woman. However i found her crush on Eivor to be very endearing, espesially when it is a one sided and unrequieted crush. For me personally, my Eivor did not romance her but reaffirmed their friendship at everyturn.
It just felt more coehesive with the narrative that Eivor would never wish to betray Sigurd or harm Randvi's feelings, like even though they make it obvious, 'oh hey Randvi and i got a divorce, feel free to romance her.' That kind of weirded me out a bit. To start dating your brothers Ex-wife the moment they get divorced is not a flattering look.
So in my mind, Eivor and Randvi aren't a couple..however!
We do have a shadowy but kind figure in the village of Ravensthorpe don't we? Hytham!
They feel like they would be such a good couple if given a chance to develop, like their positions are so very similar. Also Eivor caring so much for the duo, i can easily see a side quest where he needs to pass notes between Hytham and Randvi for logistics and communications but intercepts a 'beautifully penned love letter' by Hytham and can tease the Hidden One, but be ultimately supportive.

fanfiction community is not a distributor/consumer transactional relationship, ya'll.
It's reciprocal community, with community expectations and politeness.
No, you're not obligated as a reader to leave kudos or a comment on a fanfiction you liked, but if you don't, the writer is going to feel unappreciated because sharing their story and their joy with the community is literally the only reason they posted that story for you to read in the first place instead of keeping it on their hard-drive.
"Writers should write without the expectation of comments or kudos".
Okay, sure. Then writers should write without posting, and readers should not have the expectation that writers will post. Because sharing joy and receiving joy in return is literally the only reason to share the damned fic with anyone else.
Fanfiction writers are not mind readers. They do not know if you liked their fic unless you tell them you liked their fic. If you enjoyed a fic it is polite to let the author know this in some way, through kudos or comments, because otherwise the author thinks they've done a bad job and they shouldn't bother posting.
Reminding you that authors cannot read your mind is not "guilt tipping", "defensive" or "insecure". The only reason an author posts fic is to share their joy with someone else, and if they're receiving silence back what's the fucking point?
