man the britney spears testimony is chilling. she can't drive, cant choose her therapist or any person around her, is forced to perform and train or she'll be put on meds and restrained at home, cant see her kids or even have a new child, was forced to get an IUD which she can't have taken out, can't even choose her own food and bedtime. it's very much institutionalisation except she still has to perform to make money for her family (the same that claim she shouldn't have autonomy over her own life) and can't even change a single dance move in her choreography. it's just. christ.

and like. she's a rich cis white woman (though tbh she can barely touch the money she makes for her abusers)! and her disability and status is still enough to completely suspend her autonomy in the most abusive way, to even deny her the ability to have kids or refuse food. this is an absolute nightmare. imagine what it's like for institutionalised working class folks too. poor folk, people of color, trans people who also had their autonomy suspended that way and are institutionalised or under conservationship. im really glad she got this opportunity to speak, no matter how short it was. but christ is it heartbreaking.

GOSSIP GIRL TEASER TRAILER (2021 TV SERIES) - Nearly a decade after the conclusion of the original series, a new cast of Manhattan private schoolers takes the lead under the watchful eye of Gossip Girl, while demonstrating how much social media – and the landscape of New York City itself – has changed in the intervening years. The series features the return of Kristen Bell as the narrator, an unknown, omniscient blogger known as “Gossip Girl.”

Executive producers & showrunners Joshua Safran and Stephanie Savage have stated that the show is a sequel and ‘soft reboot’ and officially in the same continuity of the original Gossip Girl series - but rather than a direct continuation of the story, it’s set in the same world where previous characters existed and can be freely referenced and potentially reappear, and stars a different set of characters from a different point of view.

To be released on HBO Max on July 8th, 2021.

WE MUST FIGHT FOR CARTOON NETWORK

Okay. I know Cartoon Network has been unfair when scheduling and promoting it shows (it gives crappy shows like Teen Titans Go! more coverage than quality shows like Steven Universe and OK K.O.!). But now it is under attack by a homophobic and transphobic extremist group called the American Family Association. This hate group has an off branch known as One Million Moms, which is supposedly a group of mothers that petitions against companies and TV shows that have been making huge strides for LGBTQ+ representation. They strongly opposed the monumental gay marriage in Arthur and have supported Chick Fil-A and its abysmal anti-LGBTQ+ policies.

Now this hate group is turning to Cartoon Network during Pride Month, for the channel has made (although it still has ways to go) major strides in LGBTQ+ representation. It is creating a petition for Cartoon Network “to put a stop to pushing the LGBTQ agenda by deleting the “Happy Pride” ad immediately and no longer airing programs with same sex couples.” This means they want Cartoon Network TO ERASE ALL CURRENT LANDMARK EPISODES WITH LGBTQ+ REPRESENTATION AND CANCEL THE PRODUCTION OF FUTURE ONES!! They mentioned the Powerpuffs ad for Pride Month, Princess Bubblegum and Marceline’s kiss in the season finale of Adventure Time, and Ruby and Sapphire’s marriage in Steven Universe. Furthermore, the petition has been signed by 13,156 people at the time this post was posted and will most likely rise.

Please reblog this to spread awareness about this terrible petition and to stand up for Cartoon Network!! Feel free to add additional information on how to combat this hate group and additional ones!!
