CC Delay And Upcoming Sets

Hi :) You might have noticed that I made only one CC set last month. I’m sorry, but life got hectic and too stressful, and I didn’t have enough free time or energy to finish more sets.

I wanted to give you a little update and thank you for continuing to follow me, donating to my Patreon, liking and sharing my posts, commenting, or supporting me through other means, here and on other platforms.

I also want to give you an idea of what you can expect from my CC throughout the summer:

Fantasy Mermaid Thrones

Hi :) Following my Fantasy Fairy Throne Set, I decided to make another fantastical throne, this time for mermaids/mermen/merfolk. Romantic Piano Pose Pack

Hi :) The last time I made a pose pack was almost a year ago, so I figured it's time for a new one.❤

This set includes 7 couple poses (14 single poses for each Sim, labeled in-game for easier coupling). If you're new to using poses, you'll need the latest versions of Andrew's Pose Player Mod and the Teleport Any Sim Mod. Both are available here, along with instructions on how to install and use them: https://sims4studio.com/thread/2617/andrews-studio

My pose packs come with in-game instructions of where to place your Sims via the Teleport Mod (in this case, in the middle of the piano seat). I've also included in-game thumbnails of the piano keys, so you can easily spot the pack if you have lots of pose packs.

Romantic Piano Set

Hi :) I got inspired to make this set by some gothic art I saw on Deviantart. The piano is functional and the roses on the keys don’t have a footprint, so they won’t block your Sims’ path. You can freely adjust them with the ALT key.❤

Corner Shelves

Peyton Bedroom, One Tree Hill-inspired set

Hi :) I grew up watching One Tree Hill, so I decided to make some OTH themed CC. If you’ve watched OTH, do you remember that Sims 3 was featured in one episode?

Brooke Davis was my favorite character on the show, but I think Peyton Sawyer had the best bedroom design (despite every time it changed). This set is inspired by the classic red-bedroom, black-closet-doors Peyton era. The closet doors match 2 Base Game arches (Trabeated Entry Frame and Trabeated Entry Frame Medium Height) and you can freely move them with the ALT key. They don’t have a footprint, so they won’t block your Sims’ path. The posters aren't 100% replicas of Peyton's sketches on the show, but I tried to get them close. Even if you haven't watched OTH, I hope you'll find this set useful.❤

Beware Of Sims 4 Mod Managers

Hi :) I'm writing this post because the issue has become so common, it apparently requires attention. I'm talking about problematic Mod Managers and how destructive they can be for your game (and even for your security due to computer viruses and other forms of malware).

First off, let me just say I have never used Mod Manager programs, so I can't recommend a safe one. I haven't even tried popular ones like NexusMods' Vortex or CurseForge's version (despite uploading my CC on both sites) because I've always handled mods and CC manually. Also, this post isn't about these two Mod Managers.

The issue I want to warn you about is this:

There's been a recent influx of individuals who've targeted the Sims community with new, dangerous Mod Managers, also called Mod Installers, Mod Fixers and similar generic names.

The main problems with these new Mod Managers are two:

1 - They are poorly coded via "vibe coding" - ChatGPT or another AI chatbot made the code. The use of AI is a huge no-no for me personally, but if we leave that aside, the issue with such Mod Managers is that they weren't developed by a person who understands how Sims works, how the game engine reads files, what the CC and mod files contain, and how the AI code can damage your CC and mods AND even your game save files. And they also don't know how to fix them. So once the program breaks your game, CC or mods, the developer won't help you.

2 - They can contain malware that poses a risk to your computer and personal safety.

If you want to read more on the subject, Twisted Mexi (a popular mod creator famous for T.O.O.L., Better BuildBuy and other mods) has a post about it on their Discord, and if you don't use Discord, check out this Reddit post.

Obviously, every program is prone to break, so I've also added a small update to my CC Issues FAQ to note that a Mod Manager could potentially cause CC issues.

I get why it's easier to rely on a program to handle tons of custom content and mods rather than doing everything manually like me, but please keep this in mind if you're using Mod Managers.

Funny Pet Toys

Hi :) I made this CC set of fun pet toys, based on some real life dog experiences, lol. The corn toy is a bulkier replica of the squeaky corn toy our Jack Russell has. The remote control is an ode to an old TV remote control my former roommate’s Chihuahua chewed through back in the day. And the donut is inspired by a Mini Pinscher I used to have, who once targeted a box of donuts and managed to treat herself before I caught her mischiefs (don’t worry, she survived the sugar without any complications). I had lots of fun making this set, and I hope you’ll like it, too.❤

Curved Bookshelf Set

Hi :) I love the curved walls in the game, but I hate spending an eternity carefully rotating regular shelves to create a curve or half circle, making sure they align with each other, then repeating the process for however many rows I want, and then finally cluttering them. So, I made some CC bookshelves that would save me the trouble. I initially meant to design them more ornate to suit my castle tower, but then I decided to go for a clean, basic shape that fits both olden and modern builds. I hope you’ll find them useful.❤

IMPORTANT NOTE 1: 4 shelves form an aligned circle, but you can overlap them at a 45-degrees rotation and align them with the ALT key to break up the shape with narrower shelves.

MPORTANT NOTE 2: I’ve added lots of clutter slots (close to the maximum the game engine and S4S allow), so as per EA’s official warning for clutter: if you’re playing on a slow computer and you fill every slot with items while you have lots of other items on your lot, please keep in mind that your game might start to lag.

Sims 4 Marketplace and EA's Maker Program Update

Hi everyone, I’ve seen a lot of unrest online about EA’s newly announced Sims 4 Marketplace and Maker Program (a platform intended to bring paid CC into Sims 4, similarly to how Bethesda did with Skyrim, Starfield and Fallout 4, with the new currency called Moola, which is as big of a problem as are all virtual in-game currencies).

I’ve seen many comments on Tumblr, Reddit and YouTube by players who use CC who are worried that the CC creators they support will join the Maker Program and either keep all of their new CC paywalled in EA’s new platform, or just prioritize uploading there instead of their usual places.

This is my stance on the matter: I won’t be joining the Maker Program, and I will continue doing what I’ve always done – free CC after a 2-week early access, with as many Base Game compatible items as I can make.

I don’t like EA’s decision to introduce virtual currencies and all the problems they pose, and offering to pay CC creators 30% of Moola as a way to bring them on board is beyond devastating. If you want to keep supporting creators in the Maker Program and how you support them, that’s your choice. I’m not here to tell you what to do. I just wanted to give you a peace of mind if you’re among those players who are worried about the creators they follow.

I’ve loved The Sims franchise ever since I started playing Sims 1 as a kid, and I love making CC because it’s an amazing creative outlet for me (it also gave me a reason to finally learn 3D software after I spent years dreading it when I was working as a 2D artist in another field). So I plan on keep making CC in my spare time and keep everything just as it’s been so far.

Refreshed Yerba Mate Tea Set

Hi :) At the request of one of my Patreon followers, I wanted to update an older set to make the tea into a consumable item that alters a Sim’s mood… and I ended up doing a refresh of the whole set. I touched up the old textures and meshes, so they take less space, and I also added two new items inspired by the real-life gourd cup and straw we now have at home.

Updated CC Beds

Hi :) Thanks to a fellow Simmer, I noticed an issue with the beds in two of my CC sets - they were making Sims uncomfortable. The two beds are now fixed to reflect the following stats:

The Rye Cafe Set

Hi :) I’m ecstatic to finally share this coffee shop set with you. It’s got a blend of rustic, vintage, modern and industrial vibes. You can furnish a Base Game compatible café with it even if you don’t have the Get Together expansion pack for the espresso station and the café lot type. Or if you have Get To Work, you can sell the food items by turning the lot into a retail lot.

❤ IMPORTANT NOTE 1: One of my Patreon followers suggested I should make functional takeout boxes after my Takeout Restaurant Containers set. It took some trial and error, but the takeout box and bag from this café set are now functional as proper takeout storage. You can live drag the food into the box/bag by first clicking the Open option on the box/bag, then dragging the food into its inventory, and then dragging the box/bag into the Sim’s inventory.

❤ IMPORTANT NOTE 2: Since EA have locked all barstool-height high tables behind DLCs, I modified the normal eating, drinking, etc. slots from regular dining tables to make a Base Game compatible high table. It also meant I had to do the same for a dining chair to go with the table, because regular bar stools won’t “stick” to it. That’s why there are 2 stools in this set. One of them is only for my bar table; the other works with counters, regular bars, DLC bar tables, etc. And it’s also why you’ll get funky Sims animations if you use my table with any other normal dining chair.
