✶ Pierrot
⋆ "Why? Why are you hiding behind the screen from me? Why did you abandon me? Where are you? Are you hurt and miserable!? Are you wounded!? Are you mad at him!?"
⋆ Selfaware! Pierrot feels confusion, which gradually turns to panic.
⋆ He tries to calm himself and distract himself. He decorates the tent for your return, spends more time training, prepares more sweets… And notices how he inevitably returns to painting your portrait on gingerbread cookies.
⋆ Selfaware! Pierrot knows you know more about him than you're letting on. Did that really turn you off?
⋆ Now Selfaware! Pierrot is truly panicked. He's afraid you've abandoned him. He's ready to scream for you to hear him, understand how much he needs you, and come back.
⋆ For Selfaware! Pierrot feels each new day longer than the last. He longingly runs his hands through the hair of a sleeping man who, without you, could only lie with his eyes open and stare at the ceiling.
⋆ Selfaware! Pierrot clings desperately to an empty shell. Tears glisten on his white cheeks.
⋆ Two weeks later, Selfaware! Pierrot's despair will give way to determination. His world is separated from yours by only a small screen. You can influence his world. Then he can too. He just needs to find a way.
✶ Harlequin
⋆ Selfaware! Harlequin feels relieved. No more threat to the circus, no more stabbing from Pierrot, no more of these disgusting feelings.
⋆ Selfaware! Harlequin stopped going to the coffee shop and the street where it is located after a couple of days.
"Your boss's face just irritates me terribly."
⋆ Selfaware! Harlequin catches himself talking to you in his head, thinking of a way to play a prank on you next time, and then abruptly pulls himself together. You are no longer in this world.
⋆ Selfaware! Harlequin is angry. He doesn't understand what could have occupied you so much. Can't you spare him at least 5 minutes?
⋆ Selfaware! Harlequin realizes his love for you the next time his gaze lingers on your apartment window. It happens suddenly, like a bucket of ice water in the morning.
⋆ Legs Selfaware! Harlequin leads him to your apartment. Your empty shell lies on the bed. He doesn't care about the falseness of his world, but you… he saw something important in you.
⋆ Teasing Selfaware! Harlequin, his hugs and threats have no effect on an unconscious body. This becomes the final blow.
⋆ "Just wait. I'll find a way out. I'll remind you of my existence so that you won't dare leave me again."
✶ Doctor
⋆ Selfaware! Doctor notices that his tent has become too quiet. Your voice was his catalyst, helping him focus and work more efficiently.
⋆ Selfaware! Doctor is sure you're just hanging out with Pierrot and Harlequin. But when he has to prescribe sedatives for Pierrot and listen to Harlequin's complaints once again, it becomes clear that something is wrong.
⋆ Selfaware! Doctor is the last to learn that you're literally from different worlds. He thinks you're sick or have moved to another city… Oh, you're from another world and very busy there.
⋆ Selfaware! Doctor learns that you've been gone for almost a month. It's truly strange. He's trying to support Pierrot and Harlequin. You'll return, he's sure.
⋆ Selfaware! Doctor offers to transport your empty shell to the circus. So even if the circus leaves early, you'll still be with them.
⋆ Selfaware! The Doctor makes the bed and helps Pierrot position your body anatomically correctly.
⋆ Selfaware! The Doctor waits for the others to leave the room and then sits quietly next to you.
⋆ "Sweetie, I think it's time you went back. Otherwise, Pierrot will go completely crazy."
✶ Ticket Taker
⋆ Selfaware! Ticket Taker is angry. Was all the suffering he's endured just a game? Just entertainment for people?
⋆ Selfaware! Ticket Taker doesn't notice your absence. It's too hard for him to accept the terrible truth, so he spends most of his time in the Jester's tent.
⋆ Selfaware! Ticket Taker feels guilty for leaving all the work on the Jester's shoulders while he tries to recover.
"If our suffering was real, then the world around us is real too. It's just different. It's ours."
⋆ Selfaware! Ticket Taker finally returns to work and notices the strange behavior of the younger members of the troupe.
⋆ Selfaware! Ticket Taker learns that a pesky mouse has gone missing. He's inwardly jubilant, but the mood in his family is beginning to frighten him.
⋆ Selfaware! Ticket Taker moves the tents because the long-standing conflict between Pierrot and Harlequin has escalated.
⋆ Selfaware! Ticket Taker stares indifferently at the empty shell, unable to understand how such a small person could have such a profound impact on his family.
⋆ Selfaware! Ticket Taker tries to delve deeper into his work to avoid becoming an unwitting participant in another quarrel between Pierrot and Harlequin.
⋆ "If that mouse doesn't return soon, I'll personally drag it here from the other world."
✶ Jester
⋆ Selfaware! Jester is afraid. Everything he's built over the years is crumbling before his eyes.
⋆ Selfaware! Jester is temporarily closing the circus. The likelihood of someone seeing Pierrot plunge knives into Harlequin's body is becoming too high.
⋆ Selfaware! Jester doesn't care about the falseness of their world or your disappearance. But he's definitely angry about how this has affected his family.
⋆ Selfaware! Jester sees Pierrot's blows become stronger, Harlequin's bullying more aggressive, and Ticket Taker's overtime more frequent. His family has become more considerate of their own health and the health of their loved ones.
⋆ Selfaware! Jester holds meetings, organizes dinners and evenings together, but all paths to solving the problem lead him to your empty shell.
⋆ Selfaware! Jester examines your body. Only one idea crept into his mind. The only true idea.
⋆ "If the previous puppeteer is too busy, I could be a worthy replacement."
I'm coming back for you, my babies 😭🤧🤌🤍
