I'll Give You Everything

A short story summary: Sans has taken Rikkun back home from a failed bounty hunt. Wounded and off edge, Rikkun felt terrible having never actually fail a task before and harming herself this badly.

Sans carried Rikkun on to the bed laying her down gently. He wanted to make sure her wounds were not opening back up after he healed her the best he could. "It looks so fucking awful.." he hesitated still remembering how the a laser beam got her from behind. That vision haunted him, knowing she collapsed straight on to the ground. He was glad he was able to catch her before they had fallen off the edge. Rikkun's eyes felt heavy for a moment looking at him, "I'm glad you're alright.. I'm sorry I brought you in to it. I didn't know it would've been so guarded.. They usually never.." Sans hushed her trying to heal her again, "It's alright baby.. I have you now. That's all I care about."

Rikkun smiles weakly at him, "I know.. but this poison is crawling inside. It'll affect my powers a-and others.." her voice soften being tired. Sans eases sitting on the bed next to her, holding her hands. "No.. Don't say that. You've got plenty of shards left. I'll be able to revive you back. I swear." Rikkun tried gripping his warm hand, she felt so cold and timid. "Sans.. I lied.. I lied about having extras. And we're so far away from the lake.." Sans saw her shoulder turn to stone slowly. His eyes widen, "Wh-why would you lie?!" "I didn't want to hurt you.. I wanted things to be special and forever.. please I know it was cruel.." she hated herself for being so dishonest, "You've gone through so much already.. maybe.. this is what your sister wanted, for the best to keep you safe.. We almost lost you, and she blamed me. I understand.." Sans grips her hands in one, "Babe. Don't. We can find another way, y-you can't go just yet." Rikkun's eyes tears up seeing him hold back. Her legs were stone and close to falling apart from the cracks. "I'm happy you were able to go on adventures with me.. but... I think I'm done here.."

Sans weeps before kissing her lips softly, not wanting her to go. Not to die. She and he had gone through so much despite being total opposites. He lifts her hand to his cheek, feeling the marriage ring on her finger. "How.. can I be able to live without you?.."

Rikkun smiles weakly once more, "I'll promise.. to be in your dreams.." The color and shine from her eyes faded as her body was turned to stone completely. It was a minute before the stone body broke and faded leaving only a single crystal shard that glowed faintly. It had no power left. Sans held her once ring in hand as he picked up the tiny shard. His eyes burning like acid as he held the two items close to his heart, "I'm going to miss you.. Rikkun.."
