Although it will be hard to leave our friends from high school, making more friends in college will be great!
Don't forget to spend time with friends and relax this year!
David Marcus says the crash of a major college app site sent high school seniors into a panic — now’s time to consider taking a “gap year” instead of college.
I wish I had the ability to have taken a gap year. But in today’s day and age, there’s just too much pressure. If you don’t go to college right away and do amazing, you’re a failure and won’t do anything worthwhile in life, right? And yes, college definitely eventually has a negative effect on a student’s mental state and health. I can vouch for that. What with the pressure of paying for it, finding money and scholarships, etc., and then actually doing well on top of all that, it wears you down until there’s not a lot left. And then you’re expected to have a job on top of that.

“Teenage girls, please don’t worry about being super popular in high school, or being the best actress in high school, or the best athlete. Not only do people not care about any of that the second you graduate, but when you get older, if you reference your successes in high school too much, it...

"You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you’ll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.”
John Green (via quotes-are-awesome)
In 2005, author David Foster Wallace was asked to give the commencement address to the 2005 graduating class of Kenyon College. However, the resulting speech didn’t become widely known until 3 years later, after his tragic death. It is, without a doubt, some of the best life advice we’ve ever come across, and perhaps the most simple and elegant explanation of the real value of education.
"You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."
