Posted @withregram • @invisibledisabilities EXCELLENT NEWS! Invisible Disabilities Symbol signed into law on June 30, 2021 by Governor Jared Polis! [Symbol is optional and voluntary]. Colorado’s HB21-1014 Disability Symbol ID Identification went into effect July 1, 2022. The bill adds the voluntary option for a person with a disability to request that the Department of Revenue place a discreet disability identifier symbol on the person’s driver’s license or identification card. The symbol represents all types of disabilities, such as cognitive, neurological, or physical disabilities. This has been available in Alaska and was also just passed in Utah! The Invisible Disabilities Association is in conversations with other states, too. Hey it’s me, Suzy! I have long, dark hair & brown eyes. I’m sharing a few photos (video to follow soon) from the @visitmagnolia Silobration Fall festival… I have great news! So I received an email message from a young man named Jordy. He met us there & gave us a HC parking spot so that I & we could attend this beautiful outdoor weekend festival….after a couple of hours, as we were leaving, I noticed several HC parking spots NOW AVAILABLE on that street! I’m so happy to see that! One of the ladies in the Silobration tent, knew a tiny bit of ASL (American Sign language) & she wants to learn more! That is awesome. Lastly, that lady said that they saw my posts. It made them think 🤔 because they had not realized how would HC or Disabled people would be able to attend this event. She said I made them think about it and now they’re going to change for the remainder of this event & future events!! Yayyy!!!
