Lastly these are the assets are what I had saved to my library see you so it has the maps and just a colour pallets
These are the map drawings that is talking about so we’ve got one of Wellington one of Auckland and then one of New Zealand I would’ve like to do a couple more so I don’t have to keep reusing them and I’ve like different places in New Zealand I would’ve like to do Queenstown Tauranga and maybe somewhere else arm but I was really happy about how this turned out that took a little while to do but looking at them now I’m so thankful about the way they turned out. This was probably like my third or fourth attempt at the style I originally tried doing in different ways and it wasn’t working and then I found this post on Behance that had essentially what I was looking at so I use that replicated and that’s how I got this. So that should be in the behinds mood board that you see on my blog
And this is the last one out of the presentation and it’s just I still can’t get over the difference between the two I mean you can see kind of work to come from and what are used to be I do think it looks a lot better now I would’ve love to work on a bit longer but I do think that yeah it has had a massive improvement
This is part two of the new presentation same as before very different but you can really see how far it’s progressed in where it’s come from and you can see like the similarities between the two
Now this is part one of the presentation that I would’ve presented I think it’s quite interesting to see the stock contrast and differences between both of them but I do think there is a massive improvement there and there is you can still see the connections between what goes where and you know how I got to the point I got.
Now this is my final directory so I left the cover to last because I knew I want to do something rather simplistic it’s gonna have the darker areas in that in Bost and just the white printed on top so it’s got hands back to that original cover I do quite like it I do think it needs some work but unfortunate because I’m running out of time I can’t keep making iterations of it and I do have to say I have forgotten to take screenshots of iterations so I do apologise on that one has gone through mainly areas where they look very similar but everything else in it I’m incredibly happy with it’s looking a lot better than what it used to and I still use very similar grid systems but I made everything a lot more precise and I’ve change the paragraph layouts and I’ve even mapping drawing.
This is where I really start getting to the flow of things I really like what I’m doing I do realise the circles for that one main page does not work and they’re blurry so I have change that but apart from that I started really getting on being happy with what I was doing stuff with the layouts and all of that I changed it to rectangles and I think that looks a lot better and it works better in terms of layout and it’s much clearer and easier to see what is what we goes what
This is one of my variations of the publication this is one of my first or second goes at it it’s got all the type in there I was actually pretty happy about how this is looking there were a few gaps in things where I realise I could improve and I wasn’t sure how well the circles working at the time so I didn’t up changing those and I realised the all this yellow text wasn’t working and maybe a blue text would work really well and then leave in the yellow text fajitas and that.
These are just some screenshots of some of the design studios works that I used I haven’t put all of them on here but I put some of them just as a reference and yeah.
So this is the original way that I wanted to layout my publication you for my blad. I did evolve from here but this was a really good starting place it gave me a really good idea about how much type I wanted to have and where I wanted to lay it how many pictures I should gather and all of that.

Individual Time!
So as you have probably seen that it didnt go so well. So now i am going to povit (or mainly restart) as you have propbly seen i have start to do a redo a bunch of work. So I am Changing quite a few things as it a chance to do indivial work. So I am only keeping a couple of the things from the group project but i am mainly doing an over hall. so I am keeping the studio error logo and I am taking the formula logo tile thing and makig it into the mark. And now formula is the publishing company in this case. There is a couple reason for this, there where a few part which i didnt agree with but we continued with anyways, so this give me a chance to go back. Then also i dont belive i could really give this design system justes in this case as well.

I am also going to orignise the directory by place so I did my best to sort it out that way. there is obvoiusly more in auckland in this list then anywhere else. Might level it out later if I have time but because i alreay had these availble thought i would start here

This is me looking at the colours so looking at the colours of that design system that they did for the spice trade and this is where I’ve taken that blue but I switched it out for a yellow just at that pop of colour and then we’ve also got the new type I was playing around with and the new fonts that were more playful clean but they weren’t super stylistic and they were more fun and away.
This is where we start looking at our works as individual so I was very not very happy with our work but it was too late to change it in terms of the presentation but it really gave me a chance to look back see what I could do and see what I could improve and I could see that there was a disconnect between our target audience and then also our design style and system so I went back and had a look at all of our design studios that we have chosen and realise that they were a very different style to what we have done. This is where I went back and looked at the four pillars spiced gin trade bottle I really like the design of this and I even went around to other students in our class to get with their opinion was on the design system and everything and it got very positive ratings from our peers so I thought this is what I’m going to be basing my new design system around and this is how I’m going to work with and what I’m going to change and how I’m gonna make this Work
GLORIA is an intercontinental publishing platform that focusses on the publication of art and photography books. Our practice approaches the production of the book as a complete process; from concept to design to print. GLORIA is run by Berlin-based photographer Alice Connew and Auckland-based graph
So I also put this link to Gloria publishing as this is what the people doing the design system got the idea for you know what we were after I put it in there this is also how I got to the point I went where I thought that we could do and bossing for the front cover as you see that there’s some falling on their work and I realise falling wouldn’t work for hours but embossing would be a really cool part to add into it
