The creators of this video hopes to convey what relationships are in today's society. Whatever gender people label themselves, we give love, receive love's pain and learn what love is. With Mai mai Castillano's poem, the creators made their interpretation of the poem.
“How Media affects our Daily Lives”
Media has a great impact on our lives. It brings us information and entertainment by clicking notifications, giving us daily content. It has greatly affected us in giving and receiving information that is spread throughout the media. When we first wake up, to when we lay on our beds to sleep. Everywhere that we go and in everything that we do, we share our lives to the media. Comparing technology then and now, I could say that as the media evolving, it makes it easier for us to work everyday. Although our patience grew smaller than it used to be. We tend to want things more quickly. We want things to come immediately. We also have lesser conversations in real life settings. We’d rather talk on the phone than talk to the person in front of you. This is because we believe our phones are a sign of comfort and safety between our personal space and other people’s. With the media changing, how will our exchange of information look like in the future?
This postcard shows the beautiful scenery of Big Lagoon, Palawan. Its purpose is to advertises how beautiful Palawan is. A glimpse of what the islands of El Nido, Palawan looks like. A plain white background with a picture of El Nido’s best island, can catch people’s attention. The picture bring the entirety of the postcard. By looking at the picture as a traveler, I would be curious what Palawan looks like personally. Just by looking at the picture, I feel like I am peeking through a window that shows how beautiful Palawan is. Simplicity is the best. As a traveler looking at the picture, I would visit the place to see for myself.
The Importance of being an Information Literate in a Democratic Country.
Living in the 21st century, technology has took over people's lives. Technology has become a part of everyday life. We share, we live, we become the media. In today's society, it is not shocking to share your whole life to the media. We can connect and share our memories with people living on the other side of the world. It is easier for us to communicate with our friends and families, because of media. But with the limitless freedom we have in clicking share online, there are also other factors that can bring disadvantages to us and to the people that follows you on social media. For example, being a leader to a community. As a leader, you must assess your people online and offline. But sometimes, media can be greater than your control. News, advertisements and etc. are all over media. And as a leader, it is unavoidable that some unnecessary and sometimes lies are shared about you. You cannot always defend yourself, because people believe what they want to believe. News itself is business and running a business means doing anything that catches the people's interest. It is expected that not everything the news reports are necessary.
This is where being an information literate comes in. Being an information literate can help you distinguish between nonsense and important news. Living in the Philippines, it is important to be an information literate, because In a democratic country, power is vested in the people. Democracy is a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of the country, typically through elected representatives. I have stated that the media now is all about business and the importance of informing people has faded away. It is expected that the information being broadcast or written has been mixed with unnecessary news. It is important to know how our elected government run our country, because we want to make the best choices for our present and future growth of our country.
To be an information literate means to be able to know how to distinguish the important and unnecessary news. To be able to know what and how to avoid things that damages or hinders our economic growth. To know how to share valid and reliable information and to help our fellow citizens to stand up and do what is best for our country.
Mass Communication through the Years.
Mass Communication refers to how people exchange information on a large scale to a wide range of people. We communicate with different types of people every day through different social media platforms. Have you ever wonder how communication evolved into this hi-technology from writing in stones? Let’s go back and trace to see the evolution of mass communication.
Looking back on how people communicate, we could say that the media has greatly changed throughout the years and is still changing. Today, we can easily reach out to people, who are distance away from us, in a second by the power of Internet. From Cave paintings to cell phones, we could say that the future will be far greater than we anticipated.
