I feel like brand new day and the thunderbolts are able to encapsulate what will reignite the mcu, with their plots that consist of helping and making superheroes not just super heroes but people with problems and ideals and goals and flesh that out while having a comprehensive plot is exactly what we want, it's what made superman become so popular and fill people with such hope and joy, and it's that same hope and joy that is running through my veins like unadulterated adrenaline after I've watched brand new day since if peter can deal with being spiderman and helping all across the city and being shot at, thrown around, scraping by ( unhealthily and my baby should absolutely lean on the people around him more ) then I sure as shit can run my life comprehensively with the support of the people around me

I wonder if the reason Ned was able to seemingly remember Peter at the end of the film was because of not just the magic of friendship but also the fact that, based on the last movie, Ned is magical. Maybe Dr. Strange magic spells don’t work as well on other magic users. Then again, Strange himself did say he wouldn’t remember after the spell, so maybe this theory is bunk.

This is the most minor of points, but it's interesting that I seem to have interpreted something in BND differently that, seemingly, the entire fandom.

I didn't think Sara intentionally sent the V-Max message to Jean at all. I just took it as something that spontaneously happened at the moment of her death. Her powers, in her final moments, simply reached out and linked to her sister one final time.

This just so happened to cause Jean to be aware of the last thing Sara's mind perceived as she died. But, Jean didn't comprehend what was happening in that connection and thought it was a deliberate message.

And it wasn't an irrational conclusion. A lot of maximum security prisons are referred to as XXX-max. "V-Max" could absolutely be some secure facility they're holding her in.

But, as she put the pieces together...the lack of knowledge of what V-max was on anyone's part or in any database, the room Sara had clearly been confined in, the extremely taxing experiment, the comment about her "sacrifice", and finally, the revelation of the sticker a prisoner sees as they're being experimented on....it clicks.

The fact that the universe was saved only because Tony Stark saw a photo of Peter Parker and now there are no photos of Peter anywhere and the universe has forgotten the very person who inspired its salvation… One of the greatest tragedies on film.

i loved brand new day, but my biggest gripe is with the way it used bruce banner. it's clear they were trying to make him and peter foils, and i think it worked well enough, but it felt like a step backward in his character arc.

i know he's a side character in this movie, so we can't devote endless screentime to him. but... truly even one more scene with bruce where we get to see his emotional state and his relationship with his inhibitor would have helped so much. i know we got an explanation for the inhibitor in she-hulk, but i completely forgot it existed until I looked up his wiki page afterward. what casual viewer is going to remember she-hulk. besides, the explanation we got doesn't explain the actual emotions bruce has about the inhibitor.

tldr; i wish the mcu figured out how to use the hulk
