There’s a lot of talk about just showing up and trying your best. But it’s important to recognize that your ‘best’ doesn’t mean delivering your top performance. It means giving all you can give without compromising your health or hurting yourself. It means pushing yourself while still knowing your limits and honoring where you’re at. And that isn’t weakness or failure. It’s smart and it’s self-care and human - and it’s okay. It’s okay if the best you can offer in any given moment isn’t the same as someone else’s best. We’re all in different places and we all grapple with a unique set of struggles and limitations. Your best is allowed to look different. It often will. And no matter how much it deviates from the people around you, what you’re able to give is still valid and valuable. There’s quiet strength in being gentle with yourself. Strength in withholding some of your effort and energy if it means knowing you’re choosing self-care and survival over self-sabotage and a mental breakdown. Life is hard and you’re allowed to show up imperfectly. You’re going to do the best you can in each moment with where you are and what you have, and it’s enough. You are enough.

While cleaning out my room I found a paper that my therapist gave me some time ago to deal with obsessive and intrusive thoughts. Sorry the paper is a little crinkled and stained, but I figured I’d post it in hopes that it will help someone like it helped me.
Here it is again with text for anyone who can’t see the picture
That thought isn’t helpful right now.
Now is not the time to think about it. I can think about it later.
This is irrational. I’m going to let it go.
I won’t argue with an irrational thought.
This is not an emergency. I can slow down and think clearly about what I need.
This feels threatening and urgent, but it really isn’t.
I don’t have to be perfect to be OK.
I don’t have to figure out this question. The best thing to do is just drop it.
It’s OK to make mistakes.
I already know from my past experiences that these fears are irrational.
I have to take risks in order to be free. I’m willing to take this risk.
It’s OK that I just had that thought/image, and it doesn’t mean anything. I don’t have to pay attention to it.
I’m ready to move on now.
I can handle being wrong.
I don’t have to suffer like this. I deserve to feel comfortable.
That’s not my responsibility.
That’s not my problem.
I’ve done the best I can.
It’s good practice to let go of this worry. I want to practice.

Let’s say your matrilineal line is fairly consistent and everyone has their daughter at 25. So four women in your matrilineal line are born every hundred years. In a thousand years, that’s only 40 women. Like the math is so simple and yet ? You don’t think about it. So in 2000 years, 80 women. So basically, 0 AD started roughly about 80 mothers ago. That’s it.
I’m……… i’m a little drunk n cannot deal with this right now
Yep
The advent of agriculture around 9500BC was about 450 mothers ago
you can’t just say shit like that without a warning
JESUS CHRIST
“I’m a horrible father”
THE BEST PART IS THE GIRL IN THE MIDDLE JUST SO DONE
AND THE FACT THAT THIS FAMILY IS MORE MULTI CULTURAL THAN A PUBLIC SCHOOL HEALTH CLASS TEXTBOOK
The girl in the middle is just like “Damn it, Dad.”
hint: if a person with clinical depression and anxiety says theyre tired …. dont tell them they have no reason to be …. bc guess what….. They Know and Its Shitty
Louder!!!
I just want to add one thing-
If you have depression or anxiety? you’re not tired for no reason.
You’re tired because you have depression/anxiety.
Not only do they both come with low energy/fatigue as a legit common side effect, but they’re both fucking /exhausting/. fighting your brain all the time? exhausting. adrenaline crashes from anxiety/panic attacks? exhausting. being on edge all the time? exhausting. plus doing things costs /more/ energy when you have those mental illnesses.
You’re not tired for no reason, you’re tied because you have an illness that makes you tired.
This would’ve went on all day.. lol
