Thunderbolts* (2025)

Directed by Jake Schreier

I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much when I first went to see this in cinema. I was just going to support my friends in their celeb crushes on Florence and Sebastian but afterwards my jaw was on the floor. The film showcases deep, emotional themes of depression and mental health which I feel is often ignored or only briefly mentioned in the media. The way this was portrayed was well done and they managed to make it fit with the marvel universe, not just another film done for profit alone. Absolutely recommend!!

Midnight (2021)

Directed by Kwon Oh-seung

I have seen mixed reviews however, personally I enjoyed every moment of it. There was plenty of suspense and action that had me sitting on the edge of my seat. The acting is also very well done and the actors truly become their role, especially the main two characters.

Community (2009-2015)

One of my favourite sitcoms ever! Peak comedy and god-tier writing, there always something wild happens which never makes it boring.

Gladiator (2000)

Directed by Ridley Scott

One of my absolute favourites. Although it may not be completely accurate (from a historical perspective) I could feel the tension and emotions portrayed by the main character.

A true masterpiece in my opinion.

Les Choristes (2004)

Directed by Christophe Barratier

Such a gorgeous film with an equally beautiful soundtrack. While its another typical story about a teacher that changes their students lives, its easy to say that the film pulls it off without making it seem repetitive and even manages to make it feel like its the first of its kind. The music acts like a gateway to freedom for the boys while allowing the audience to be awe whilst feeling the same emotions as the students.

A truly amazing film and a great addition to anyone's watchlist!
