@xugarthin
so you ARE capable of understanding that what someone thinks about themselves doesn’t affect how they perceive the worth of others
I know OP never said that he tells normal weight/thin people that he would find himself unattractive if he was skinny, I simply found the existence of both posts amusing. I’m also not saying that OP is skinnyphobic or anything like that because I don’t think it’s particularly fatphobic for a someone who isn’t fat to express not wanting to become fat (though I do think intensity and context matters).
you are genuinely the stupidest person to ever sit their dense ass on this website. have you done any significant medical research into the legitimate causes of obesity? or do you just sit here to bitch about it for fun??? because holy shit you cannot be real you HAVE to be a bot this is fucking insane LMAAAOOOOO. people with a large variety of disorders struggle to lose weight (namely polycystic ovary syndrome & hypothyroidism to name a couple) due to primarily insulin resistance; this has been backed for SEVERAL years by SEVERAL professionals. and even if it's NOT caused by a medical condition, WHY DO YOU GIVE A FUCKKKKKK. GENUINELY. why does it bother you SO much that people choose to live their lives differently. you are so fucking miserable its funny.
Struggle yes, but you forget one very fine detail even with the medical journals. You can *gasp and clutches pearls* lose weight!
If people who have medical issues and physical difficulties can still lose weight then why the fuck can't all the people who are in the fat movement/'s? Simple answers are that they don't want to, are to damn lazy to, or are psyching themselves out of taking that first step.
As for why I care is because ignorant people will spread falsified information in regards to obesity. Shit you literally just did with this ask. Literally shitting on the possibility that someone can better themselves for their health!
Also, even if they currently don't have medical issues the possibility for them to develop issues in the future is really high, but hey since you listen to medical professionals why are you ignoring that? Most likely you have ulterior motives that are most likely either selfish in circumstance that you are in that situation already of being overweight/obese, or it's a fucking kink. 💁🏽♀️
Another reason why I have such a strong stance against just staying overweight/obese is that not only is it inconveniencing to oneself, but to society as well. How much bigger do things need to be in order to accommodate bigger bodies? For gods sakes they make mri machines that can hold 500 lbs, and if you are bigger than that you have to go to a fucking zoo. This shit should not be fucking normalized!
If this is what you consider living differently then I am assuming you are just ok with people just dying? Newsflash there have been many death's in the fat movement's, because being overweight/obese is not a sustainable lifestyle. Mind you some of the ones who have died were in their early and mid 20s! It is crazy to me that such young people are dying from literally believing that they were still healthy being that weight, and mind you some did try to change but it was too late for them....
Just woooow you are a piece of work. You better hope that situational beliefs/circumstances don't come to fruition and bite you in the ass.
*will be putting this in the usual tags. Just wooooow
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
*for decades, fat people in media are constantly shown as bullies even tho fat people are more likely to be bullied and harassed in real life*
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
*fat people in communities and fandoms are pushed out of them due to constant fatphobic harassment*
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
*fat people not being able to show their talents or interests online without people constantly bringing up their weight*
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
*fat people struggling to find clothes in their size especially online and when they do find clothes in their size their either overpriced or look ugly*
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
*people actually debating whether or not fat people should exist and even saying that fat people are a disease*
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
*fat people getting called cows, pigs, literal animals*
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
*skinny people being put in fat body suits for movies, tv shows, etc instead of just getting a fat actress*
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
*the ongoing dangerous stereotype about fat people being gr00mers/p€d0philes that just gets reduced to a joke*
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
*fat characters in books will be made skinny for movies, tv shows, etc*
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
*fat people die every day due doctors not actually helping them until they lose weight*
“Fat people aren’t oppressed 🙄”
Do you guys not see a pattern here? Cause I see it and it's clear as day
Barely any of this is oppression.
Are your voting rights at threat of being striped away cuz of your size? Were you denied buying a house due to your weight? Do police profile you due to your weight? Do you get threats of deportation regardless of your citizenship status?
Stop misusing oppression! Stop watering down POC issues.
Getting stronger means getting better at falling down. Joints that can withstand pressure, bones that are dense enough to withstand impact.
Strength isn't just about moving your body, it's about protecting it during worst case scenarios.
This is why building muscle is one of the most effective things you can do for your well being.
And remember building muscle does not require losing fat. You do not need to look tiny or toned to benefit from improving your muscle mass.
Btw, skinny ppl, you should never be using the word obese.
I don’t care if you mean it in a “clinical” context.
I don’t care if you think it’s the proper name for our “condition.”
I don’t care if you say it as a joke, or only to refer to things that aren’t people.
You should never be using the word obese to describe Anything. And you are fatphobic if you do, I’m dead fucking serious.
Fat people obviously we can call ourselves whatever we want or reclaim it or what have you, I’ve seen fat people who reclaim it, but i do Not wanna hear that shit from skinny people Ever.
Stop trying to co op POC language for your agenda! OBESE is a valid medical term for the state of a human body, it is NOT a slur. Obese people are not a oppressed minority, in fact most people are fat nowadays.
When OBESE people esp white obese people misuse POC language it waters it down.
Last I updated about my weight loss journey I was down 60 lbs.
Im now 66 lbs down and 11 lbs left to lose to reach a healthy bmi for my height.
Weight loss is slowing which makes sense since Im getting closer to my goal. I cant cut any more calories as itll be too low, so I'll try upping my excersise.
Thankfully summer is almost here so i get to go on more walks/runs!
For the first time, I tried Dead Lifting and Hang Cleans at the gym. I tried this on Friday and my body is still so sore.
I know my form needs more improvement, but it was overall fun. I want to get stronger and be built like a badass. Goals are to look as close to Maki from JJK as possible haha
Fat Acceptance is the exact same as the anti vax movement.
Both think they know better than real doctors
Both spread their bullshit to the vulnerable like the poor or otherwise ill
Both have infiltrated celebrities and celebrity news
Both wave off the underlying risks of their poor choices and risks of the safer option
And both are often spouted by ignorant, entitled people who would rather avoid minor discomfort than benefit society.
Absolutely insane that FA/HAES people whine and complain about how DiEtS DoNt WoRk (they do) for obese people who are trying to lose weight. And now that there's a medication on the market that is proven to help you lose weight, they're also bitching about THAT. There are multiple avenues you can take to lose weight but they don't want to hear it.
Of course, how else can they keep avoiding taking accountability for their health?
I really hate when people claim obesity isn't an epidemic or an issue at all.
Fatphobia is a legitimate problem and BMI is inherently flawed.
That doesn't mean obesity doesn't exist and is some arbitrary concept.
Bad eating/exercise/health habits that lead to obesity are a very real danger.
That doesn't mean skinny people are inherently healthy. Plenty are not.
But I'm growing very tired of people saying no efforts should be made to improve health/lose weight because skinny people can be unhealthy too.
There are legitimately fat activists out there who say you should eat whatever you want whenever you want wherever you want and however much you want.
This is disastrously unhealthy.
Just... It's really sad that people opt against healthy choices because of "activists" like this.
There are jerks out there who insult people for being fat. These people are awful.
But them being awful doesn't mean their stance on obesity being unhealthy is wrong. Them treating people poorly IS wrong, however.
Try to be as healthy as you're able.
Starving urself is more unhealthy than being fat btw.
When one eats a lot at the very least u will feel bloated or end up vomiting, which is not a very good experience but it will pass and as long as u aren't vomiting for days straight it is not an emergency.
Starving urself, even if it's for one day, even if u simply forgot to eat can leave u in the hospital, when u stop eating ur energy levels go down, your sugar and glucose levels go down, which are all things converted into energy, energy that is used everyday by ur body even if u are sleeping bc ur body needs energy to pump your blood, to breathe, to digest anything, to convert things into waste, etc...
Eating isn't the only reason u will get fat either, medication can influence a lot in your weight gain, and so can SOOO many things, it's easier to get fat than to stay thin (unless you have a fast metabolism which isn't 100% healthy either), and if you wanna stay thin you will have to stop eating so many enjoyable things forever! So it's best to accept yourself for who you are no matter your weight, because is it really living if you aren't eating some good sweets or some good fast food without worrying about your weight?
Theres literally been studies that fasting has health many benefits FYI. Im not saying never eat, but abstaining for several hours or skipping meals isnt going to kill you.
"Japanese cell biologist Yoshinori Ohsumi won the 2016 Nobel Prize in Medicine for discovering how fasting triggers autophagy, a cellular "self-eating" process that breaks down and recycles damaged cell components, promoting rejuvenation, longevity, and metabolic health."
The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2016 was awarded to Yoshinori Ohsumi "for his discoveries of mechanisms for autophagy"
Anti-diet dietitians are always telling us it’s okay to give into our cravings and eat bags of chips or order the side of fries because “our bodies need carbs”. Do you know what else is made of carbs? Berries. Carrots. Brussel sprouts. Sweet potato. And yet a lot of us have rarely experienced an extreme desire to wolf down a whole carton of blueberries.
When you only crave very specific carbs… maybe it’s not carbs you are craving. Maybe it’s the specific combination of salt fat and sugar being added to your ultra-processed snack foods
Remember a few years ago when it was revealed that a bunch of online dietitians were secretly being paid by big junk food companies to promote eating junk? I sure do.
