You were getting ready to meet up with your friends. Your outfit was complete, makeup was done and ready. On your bed was a sleeping and lightly snoring Joaquin sprawled out, as well as your purse and phone that you placed down beside him. As you secured your earrings, you marched from your vanity to the bed with your boots padding on the wooden floor. Grabbing your purse and hanging it over your shoulder, you smiled at the figure of your boyfriend sleeping soundly. You leaned over, propping your hand on the cushion for support as you planted a kiss on his forehead. “Be right back, love”, you whispered, earning a hum from the man.

You leave the bedroom as you pull out your phone to text your friends that you were on your way. As you arrive in front of your main door, you overheard muffled voices on the other side of it.

“Are you sure this is the place?”

“Yeah! 100%!”

Your eyebrows furrowed and your head tilted in confusion. You open the door to reveal two familiar men that were just as surprised as you were.

‘Shit’, you thought. ‘What are they doing here?’

“Sam, I told you.” The man who spoke was too familiar. Brooding aura with an intense stare, Bucky Barnes.

Beside him was even way more familiar. Your boyfriend’s idol and now co-worker, Sam Wilson. You only ever saw them on TV, the internet, or when your boyfriend pictures with you.

“Wh—“, Sam peeks over at the unit number before returning his gaze to you and back to Bucky. “I swear this is the place!”

“Can I help you?” That was all that you managed to speak out. You and Joaquin have discussed about keeping your relationship a secret. It was a risk to put it out in the public, knowing his field of work. Joaquin couldn’t afford that. He wanted to protect you as much as he can.

“Sorry ma’am. I must have been mistaken but may you know where Joaquin Torres lives?” Sam asked, clearing his throat to ease the awkwardness.

You sighed, there was just no other choice. “Babe! Sam and Bucky are here for you!”

“What?!” Your boyfriend yelled from your bedroom, the same way the two men in front of you did.

-well, it's not a secret anymore. maybe, it wouldn't be so bad after all. (part 1)

It was awkward. you texted your friends that they had to go on without you, that something came up. well someone… two of them actually. Joaquin was in the living room with the two other lads, you could hear them bickering from the kitchen. 

You walked to the living room as you held a tray of a pitcher of water, some glasses, as well as snacks. 

“Why didn’t you tell us before?” Sam questioned, more amused and surprised than he was upset about the unveiled secret. 

“Well, we did agree on it. I told her that I didn’t want to put her in danger, I didn’t want to risk any of it.” Joaquin reasoned, his eyes following your figure as you set the tray down on the coffee table and nodded in agreement. “Better question is, why didn’t you even tell me before coming here man?”, the younger asked in disbelief, firing their own question back. The two men chuckled at his wit, “Come on, we just wanted to surprise you.” 

“But then we were more surprised.” Bucky added. 

“I was even more surprised when I opened the door!” You chimed in with a chuckle, “I just knew that we were done for.” 

“I genuinely thought Joaquin got kicked out by the landlord for a second!” Sam exclaimed, eyes widening in exaggeration. 

As you guys laughed, your boyfriend tugs you by your wrist, the back of your knees hitting the chair as you landed on his lap. Your cheeks felt warmer and you weren’t used to this kind of display of affection.

Sam groaned and Bucky squinted at the action, “There’s another available chair, by the way.”

“Nah, I think she’s good right here.” Joaquin looked up at you, his arm snaking around your waist to hold you closer. 

“Well, I gotta say. With your secret out now, it is our duty to protect you and keep you out of danger.” Sam gives a reassuring smile, Bucky nodding in agreement. 

You could visibly see how the weight of it all had been lifted off of Joaquin’s shoulders as he instantly relaxed upon his friend’s words. You smiled, “Thank you guys.” 

 “By the way, you’re really pretty if I may say—”

“Okay! Is anyone hungry?”

Everyone chuckled, well except Joaquin. Well maybe, it wouldn’t be too bad to be known.

IVE LITERALLY THOUGHT ABOUT THIS!!!

He would go all out with it with flowers, gifts, and dates. He's not the best at playing guitar or singing but he'll try his best! And if all else fails, he'll stand outside your room holding up a boom box and screaming the lyrics.

After every date he would ask how he's doing with those big brown puppy dog eyes he can't help but give you. And when you say he did an amazing job he whispers a "yes!" And pumps his fists in victory, which you find absolutely adorable.

After every date, you always go home feeling so kilig. Without fail, he always drives you home and walks you to the door before leaving a sweet kiss on your lips, leaving you wanting more.

He does text you a lot but he also loves sending love letters to you. It's always a pleasant surprise when you retrieve your mail and find an envelope with your name and a heart next to it with that signature J written inside. Sometimes you'll even find little notes in your pocket, not even knowing when he would have snuck it in there.

When he meets your parents, he'll mano po them, which not only impresses you but your parents and siblings as well. He's done research for sure! He wants to prove to you how serious he is about you. In the process of loving him, your family started to as well. They treated him like family.

Whenever you go out, he always offers to carry your bag. And if you deny him, he'll just slyly take it after you set it down and hold it out of your reach. He's trying to be a gentleman, just let him do it.

He does everything in his power to treat you the best because thats what you deserve.
