I actually have a lot of thoughts on how they could become FrIeNdS. For example, the Lady in Red (aka Nero's Mother) could well have helped Verg with translating books. In the novel, Dante did not understand a word of the books because they were written in some old language, but Nero could read them (albeit poorly) because they were taught to do so.

In one video about the DMC actors, the following information was leaked, saying that the one playing the role of Vergil insisted that the Lady in Red was important to Verg, and not “a mistake of youth.” Even a little calm at heart. Vergil is not very scum :D

Au where Dante “died” instead of Vergil. Had the idea of something along the lines of equivalent exchange and how one thing has to remain constant in the dmc universe. One son of Sparda must die or something… if I had the time I would’ve made this a full comic but for now I gotta settle for this LOL
