I know this is "old stuff" but fuck it, I want to rant. Isn't it amazing how much hate Anders gets while Cullen gets a free pass because of PTDS? I bet Anders (and many other mages) have PTSD ten timers over because of Templar abuse but nobody cares. Also, Anders tried to fight peacefully for years but it didn't work. Why the fuck does he get demonized in such extent? Annulment wasn't his fault either since Meredith called for it well before. I don't get this selective sympathy in this fandom!

To expand on some of the things you mention, and here are a few more I can think of, only named characters:

Re: Wynne and Rhys - Wynne was allowed one single day with her child after giving birth, before he was taken into Chantry custody. Rhys was then sent to a Chantry-run orphanage in Lydes until he developed magic himself, and then to the White Spire. Wynne never would have seen her son again if not for the fact that as a reward for her involvement in the events of DA:O, she requested and was granted access to Chantry documents of his movement.

Re: Vivienne - In addition to all the assassins sent after her, embargoes were sanctioned against Duke Bastien because of their relationship.

Re: Fiona - Fiona was kidnapped by slavers off the streets when she was seven years old, then sold her to Count Dorian, an Orlesian noble who kept her as a ‘pet’ until she was fourteen.

Rhys was held in solitary confinement, chained to a wall without food or water for four days.

What the templars do to Rhys is the same as what they did to Cole (human Cole, not the spirit that takes his form), who ended up dying from this, forgotten and alone. And this was after Cole already suffered from horrible physical and emotional abuse from his father.

The templars in the White Spire later go on to lock up every single mage in these cells, where they would have likely all been killed if Rhys, Evangeline, Wynne, Shale, Cole and Leliana did not stage a rescue.
