The drive into town was short and remained comfortably silent. Â Logan wasnât much of a conversationalist and Rogue thankfully never required small talk. Â But when he pulled the vehicle into the lot of a small sports bar, he gave her a quick glance. Â âThis work?â Â Normally, he wouldnât have cared. Â But Rogueâs opinion mattered to him. Â If she thought she wouldnât be comfortable here, heâd find somewhere else. Â It was a little rundown, making most folks wary of the quality of food, drink, and service. Â It was why Logan liked it. Â Theyâd be left alone here. Â And itâd be quiet. Â
Her heart tugged slightly as they pulled into the parking lot of a small building, the slightly rundown outside and old sign reminding her of a lot of good memories sheâd had with him and others in her past. âIt looks great, sugah,â Marie replied, a happy glimmer in her eye. She undid her seatbelt, climbing out of the car and waiting for him to exit before starting towards the building. She liked the safety she felt, knowing that he was always keeping an eye out for trouble. She knew others felt suffocated by it, but it made her feel at home.Â
