Lou Reed - 1976 Interview Compilation
As you may have realized, I enjoy Lou Reed’s music. And I also just enjoy hearing the guy talk! And that’s what you get on this nice collection of 1976 radio interviews. Having just come off of the ***controversial*** Metal Machine Music, you can tell that Lou is doing his best to get back in the good graces of the record buying public and, to a lesser extent, the rock critic establishment. Not that he isn’t plenty feisty at times. And occasionally totally bored! But mostly entertaining and charming. One interesting thing (to me at least): Lou’s answer when asked what records he’s been enjoying – Neil Young’s Zuma, Dion’s Born To Be With You and (most surprisingly) Sandy Denny’s Like An Old Fashioned Waltz. All classics! He also seems to hate The Tubes. I know, I know this is all priceless info.
