     To say the two are friends is still something that Sampo himself would not readily agree with. From what he knows, true friends would equally confide in one another, yet the mercenary hesitates to share even the smallest detail. He's already heard the other out a couple of times, more so lending an ear than sourcing blackmail. Though if asked, especially if seen by someone that knew of his reputation, of course the logical answer is that he's fishing for whatever he can get in hopes of ruining the Landau's pristine image.

     But he doesn't. There's not really a plan to do so either. Small talks hardly yield juicy details.

     Staying out of messes such as these is also preferable, but what fun would there be if the Captain he's spent so much time baiting around the streets of Belobog fell to such unfortunate circumstances ?  It cannot be fate's doing, should be welcoming of whatever twist he might invite by being present by Gepard's side. Even with the pungent sanguine all about, Sampo manages a smile, offering of reassurance for the other.  ❝ Y'know, if you tell me not to do something, I'm gonna want to do it even more, right ?  ❞  It's a jest. for  once,  gepard  landau  does  not  have  the  energy  to  banter  back  with  sampo.  with  an  exhausted  sigh,  he  roughly  pushes  his  shield  into  the  snowy  ground  below  him.  then,  utilizing  what  little  strength  he  has  left,  blond  clambers  to  his  feet,  relying  solely  on  the  case  to  keep  him  steady.  upon  standing  up,  the  blood  rushes  to  his  head,  causing  him  to  experience  a  dizzy  spell.  oceanic  eyes  waver  as  he  looks  upon  his  deceased  soldiers,  laid  about,  no  longer  moving.  “  sampo  ..  ”  the  captain  shifts  his  gaze  to  meet  the  mercenary's.  “  are  they  really  all  ..  can  you  please  check  again  ?  ”  he  already  knows  the  definitive  answer  before  his  companion  even  moves  an  inch.  their  chests  do  not  rise,  their  bodies  are  cold,  skin  pale.  a  half  gasp  falls  from  chapped  lips.  he  closes  his  eyes,  attempting  to  retreat  away  into  his  shell  for  a  moment  of  peace.  chilly  wind  whips  his  face,  making  it  impossible  to  refocus  himself,  as  much  as  he  tries.  when  he  speaks  again,  gepard's  voice  is  quiet,  lacking  conviction,  entirely  defeated  by  the  horrific  scene  in  front  of  him.  his  mind  races,  trying  to  figure  out  what  he  is  going  to  say  to  those  who  have  lost  their  family  members.  “  ..  lead  the  way.  i'll  follow.  ”

gepard has trouble controlling his ice abilities. his powers are heavily influenced by his emotions. after years of strenuous abuse of his powers, they have started to encase his body with a layer of impenetrable ice. as of right now, his right arm is unusable outside of his arm guard. gepard's heart rate is also much slower than normal, a result of his frosty element.
