FBC > LBD. Thatâs Fabulous Black Coat > Little Black Dress.Â
For date nights, Taylor often defers to a classic LBD. Understandably so! Itâs a timeless classic for a reason. Here, she gives it some glam styling via embellishments and proportion play.Â
I find myself loving the contrast between the short hemline of her dress against the longer coat. But whatâs more is the excellent âeye movementâ in this âfit via the injection of sparkles throughout. Iâll explain. The dangling earrings bring you to the sparkling necklace which bring you to the embellishments on her Simkhai coat which bring you right to the Stella bag. And that dangling crystal fringe on the bag? They bring you right back up to the earrings. Like designing a magazine page layout, this keeps the eye moving smoothly through the ensemble to take in its individual parts while also appreciating a cohesive whole. Masterful accessorizing, imo.Â
As a sucker for a minimalist ankle strap heel, Iâll also +1 the Louboutins. They do their job of not taking up too much attention (but still being fab). The patent version is linked above, although I believe that Taylor's might be a custom satin pair. Though I could totally have seen a sparkly pair swapped in to keep that aforementioned âeye movementâ going from literal head to toe, it would be easy to point to Taylor's red lip (classic) as the "sandwich" style red moment of the 'fit - but is it too far of a stretch to say those red bottoms also conveniently tie in neatly with Killaâs coordinated two-piece and visuslly bounce you over to him or vice/versa?Â
A new watch has been added to Taylorâs (slowly) growing collection. While out to dinner in NYC this week, Taylor celebrated the birthday of her longtime friend, designer and stylist, Ash Avignone. In the process of the hug, the sleeve of her LBD lifted to show off her Cartier watch. You might recall that the other watch in Taylorâs (small) collection is a Louis Vuitton âTambour.â Taylor has been spotted wearing that watch twice so far. First at the Chiefs vs Broncos game and in a NYC outing last month. On those previous appearances, Taylor wore the watch on her right (dominant) wrist. Here, she looks to have swapped to her left (non-dominant) wrist which is the more common way watches are usually worn. Both watches appear to be yellow gold. Over the last year, Taylor has upped her jewelry game and has explored the art of the stack in various categories (necklaces, earrings, bracelets). But one category that is entirely new to her? Watches. In my memory, the only time I can recall Taylor coming close to watches is when they were formatted into different settings like, say, a vintage watch face restrung onto a necklace pendant. Iâve personally always admired the Cartier âTankâ style (worn and loved by Princess Diana) so Iâm excited to see Taylor wearing a Cartier piece here. I look forward to seeing if this is a new category sheâs set to add more pieces to.
Taylorâs necklace for the evening was a new-to-her brand - Bonbonwhims. The piece combines the best of the classic tennis necklace style with a diamond heart pendant. Given the piece was secured by her style team, itâs no surprise that it coordinates well with the rest of her outfitâs crystal pieces for the night.
