WHY PALESTINE…. I’m often asked by people, friends included, why I support the Palestinians and the Palestinian cause as I have no real connection with the country, its people, or even their religion. Also, with so many other places in the world where injustice prevails, why this one? Here’s my reply: It is true, I don’t really have much connection with the Palestinians, other than the few Palestinian friends on Facebook, and I’m not a Muslim. But, that is not the point; what it is, is that Palestine and its people stand alone against those who are determined to control the world. The US and its evil partner Zionist Israel,-and here seems to be some confusion as to who the dominant partner is- have a plan in motion to control the rest of the world, either through coercion, or through more “civilized” means like controlling each country’s economy and consequently its political will. This plan, I believe, is spearheaded by Israel who has been tasked with job of subjugating and ethnic-cleansing Palestine. On the surface, this shouldn’t have been too difficult as on the one side we have one of the most powerful armies in the world, which enjoys the political protection that the world’s sole superpower provides, a state that is immune to international pressures and measures against it and on the other, stand the Palestinian people; a people, who for the last 66 or so years, have seen their land taken away from them, their children being murdered on a daily basis and on top of all that a people branded as terrorists by the so called “civilized” world! These people have suffered all these years the indignities that the worst oppressor the world has ever known has imposed on them! And yet, where anyone else would have given up and opted for the safer alternative of migrating to other countries, these people have persevered, they have taken the worst that Israel could dish out and yet they are still there, sticking their chest out and fighting with incredible courage against unbelievable odds! They and they alone have shown the world that the evil twins are not invincible. With their continued resistance, they are spoiling the plans of the “elite”. So, it is not I who is doing something for the Palestinians, its THEY who are fighting for me, and for that, I will always be indebted to them!
