Hey btw, here's a piece of life advice:

If you know what you'd have to do to solve a problem, but you just don't want to do it, your main problem isn't the problem itself. Your problem is figuring out how to get yourself to do the solution.

If your problem is not eating enough vegetables, the problem you should be solving is "how do I make vegetables stop being yucky". If your problem is not getting enough exercise, the problem you should be solving is "how do I make exercise stop sucking ass". You're not supposed to just be doing things that are awful and suck all the time forever, you're supposed to figure out how to make it stop being so awful all the time.

I used to hate wearing sunscreen because it's sticky and slimy and disgusting and it feels bad and it smells bad, so I neglected to wear it even if I needed to. Then I found one that isn't like that, and doesn't smell and feel gross. Problem solved.

There is no correct way to live that's just supposed to suck and feel bad all the time. You're allowed to figure out how to make it not suck so bad.

Gonna be honest, i don't really think any kind of "health professional" should be showing clients prank videos, especially ones that are super ableist. (details below)

I basically just do neck stretches with this guy, but he is a chatty catty. I'm not at all secretive about the kinds of things i think; i really AM how i LOOK, which is pretty... "liberal." Anyway, after some conversation about things that further cement that kind of idea about me, he shows me this "funny video." [I do believe that he was trying to be nice, i don't think it was supposed to be a slight, but i do think it was a fucked up thing to find funny]

The video was a POV where a guy was following around an older man (maybe mid- to late-50s i think) in a CVS. At the checkout, the man tells the guy to leave him alone because he's been following him the whole time, and he's letting the workers know. The guy is telling the workers that the man is his father, who has Alzheimer's and 'sometimes gets like this.' The workers are on the younger guy's side for the most part, but the video skips to different points in the escalation. By the end, the prankster calls somebody on the phone that the workers talk to, and they confirm that the man is their husband/the guy's father. And just before the video ends, the guy uses the R-slur to describe the man's behavior. There was no resolution to the prank in the video that i was shown, so i don't know what happened with it, and i honestly don't want to try to find it. It was just upsetting to me.

The guy that showed me the video doesn't know that my grandpa had Alzheimer's, nor that he died because the people that were taking care of him in the facility decided to do an unnecessary surgery on him and he had a heart attack from that. But i don't think i need to divulge that for anyone to realize that the prank was super fucked up. that's all's just an "icing on the cake" of why i wasn't cool with it. I didn't say anything then, but i will the next time i see him.
