vibing, but make it cardio
You absolutely have the right to define your own spirituality and create your own spiritual practice.
Something that I don’t hear about very often when discussing shadow work is physical shadow work.
How does your body move? Where do you experience pain? What are the patterns of movement that are being held by your body?
Our bodies are literally altars.
I highly recommend adding a somatic practice to your shadow work! This doesn’t have to be hard or about fitness (but seeing a trainer or coach can be very insightful) Our bodies love to move. We get a natural high from movement. Here are three ways you can start right now without any experience or skill:
- start each day with intuitive movement for 5 minutes. Move every single joint if you’re able. Don’t cause pain, rather, invite space into your joints.
- next time you have an ache or pain, breathe into it. Literally ask it what it has to say. Listen to the first thing that pops up, it could be a memory, a smell, a sensation, or words, but our bodies communicate nonverbally.
- notice how you stand in line. Is your weight evenly distributed? Do you feel stable on the ground or are you off balance? Root down with your feet about shoulder width apart, engage your core. Feel the difference!
Please reblog and add your favorite somatic/embodied practices to build this as a resource! And try whenever possible to be holistic in your shadow work. Everything is connected, your body is a microcosm of the macrocosm 🌀
don’t forget to add the word Now to the end of your affirmations!
Ex: I continue to notice more positivity in my life, now.
I am healing, now.
