So yesterday, the Mom of my violin student swung by to drop off her daughter's violin because she forgot to bring it to school (her lesson was immediately after school). Amiya mentioned that the sweet little Queensland Healer her family was fostering was not being accepted by her other three dogs and she was going to have to send her back to the dog adoption facility. I said "uuuhhhhhhhh wait....." Amiya asked if I would consider fostering/adopting this puppy.... I was planning on visiting a dog adoption place within the next year or so, no plans as yet to find a playmate for puppy Jophiel, although she was clearly disturbed by my day-long ugly crying and hugging Maximus' grave..... I said "YES!", and here you see Mariah's beautiful bow arm and posture as she serenades my NEW dynamic duo~ Jophiel & Sage😘🐶🐶❤️😍 When I buried my old love puppy Maximus, I first gathered bunches of sage branches from our favorite walks in the forest around our house to lay on him in his grave. When I heard the name of Puppy Sage, it was a clear sign for me to enjoy puppy breath, get to work on house training, and get out of my doldrums of unhappiness. Jophiel is getting acclimated to not being the most adorable puppy girl in the room and very seriously taking on the rôle of Matriarch Protector of the yard and Puppy Sage. I had no idea that the video I recorded & posted Friday morning of my old man puppy Maximus breathing would be the last.... My fur baby since February 2010..... Maximus went into mild convulsions at 8:34am during which he stopped breathing. At 8:40am, his strong puppy heart gradually slowed down and stopped beating. I am so grateful for this companion of mine. Terverun Belgian Sheephounds have an expected lifetime of 14 years or less. Maximus Maximillian Puffington Esquire made it to 14 years and 5 months. While I hoped to have his companionship for another 14 years, he was letting me know the past couple months that his time was coming. Maximus was a beautiful model of a healthy puppy with a very strong will to live right up to his final breaths. I am even more grateful for my puppy girl Jophiel who instinctively knew to let mommie and Maximus hog the bed to themselves the last two nights and who now is a source of great love and compassion as we both grieve..... OOOKAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!.... . . . So yesterday I got my order of @vosgeshautchocolat in the mail, a case of "library" mixed chocolates and exotic truffles. I discovered this PHENOMENAL chocolatier last December when the parents of one of my music students gifted me with a chocolate bar library that included what was my favorite chocolate ever (and is now sold out😭😭😭)~ Black Raspberry infused with fermented black tea.... . . . I am not one of those people who go crazy for chocolates ~ a traumatic experience with chocolate as a single digit kid made me learn to hate pretty much all chocolates readily available in US supermarkets... Trips years later as an adult to Geneva, Switzerland and Oaxaca, Mexico gave me a glimpse of what GOOD chocolate should be, but again, that kind of unadulterated sumptuousness is not to be found on the average supermarket shelf. . . . Having faith that #VosgesHautChocolat is the real deal, as soon as my sweet UPS driver LeRoy rolled up with my case, I opened it to give him one of the mini chocolate libraries~ over the course of the day, I managed to eat half the box of exotic truffles and am now unapologetically making the other half my breakfast, washing it down with spiced #peetscoffee (ground with nutmeg & cloves, stirred in @nutiva coconut manna and a heaping tablespoon of @healthforce powdered vita-greens). I also delivered a box of the pure plant "love and healing infused dark chocolate bars with vibration treat of 538 Hrz" to my neighbor who is mourning the recent passing of her father- the mini chocolate library brought a big smile to her family😍🙏🏾💟 . . .
