The name's Sebastian Michel Smythe. You can call me Sebastian, though I'd prefer if you didn't call me at all.
International traveler, junior at the University of Texas-- and overall brilliantly handsome gentleman, at your service.
Well, at my own service.
((This is an RP blog, not affiliated with Grant Gustin, Glee, Friday Night Lights, Fox, NBC or anything else having to do with either of these shows. In addition, I am not an international business major irl, so please don't ask me questions related to that major/profession.))
I mean, to each their own! I know kids are this super touchy subject that can go either way, because usually people either love them or hate them. No neutral. Wanna help? I’ve got a schedule but it’s been going off and doing it’s own thing and it’s messing me up.
I’ll help but only if you promise to stick with it. It’s all about time management and making sure that you keep yourself on track. It’s not that bad after a while. If you can make it a week, then you can make it three weeks and it only takes three weeks to form a habit.
I can totally admit that any child of yours would be pretty awesome, though I’m a fan of children in general because teeny tiny humans with weird logic. Sorry! I’m sorry, my time management really has been failing me. Who knew college would be harder than high school? Kidding, I knew, but the reality really is so much different than the expectation.
Funny, that’s the same reason I don’t like them. That and they’re slimy and really needy and ask too many questions. I’m just not a fan. You’ve really got to get in the groove like I have. Schedule everything and it’s work out. Promise.
Some of the stuff they teach you in Early Education. I’ve spent a lot of time working with children, but it clearly doesn’t teach you everything.
Like the fact that the average age a child begins to use a microwave is seven. (I thought it was way younger). Or the fact that fathers are what usually determine the height of the child, and mothers the weight. (I can see it being valid???). Or that on average, a 4-year-old child asks 437 questions a day. (HOW DO THEY NOT END UP MUZZLED?!). OR MOST INTERESTING (to me) - Watching television can act as a natural painkiller for children, which really only solidifies my stance that in moderation technology is totally a benefit to kiddos not the atrocity it’s been made out to be.
This has been “LEARNING THINGS WITH MASON”. You’re welcome.
On a less fact nerd note, I need a major update on what I missed while holed away writing an essay (among actually having a social life which is shocking I know).
While I’m not at all interested in children, unless we’re discussing the perfection that would be a child parented by yours truly, I must admit those are interesting facts. Not as interesting as the fact that you disappeared off the face of the planet, but interesting still.
Who: Sebastian Smythe and @longhornspencerporter
What: Seb and Spence have a chat about Spencer dropping the L bomb
When: Friday, September 20th, early afternoon
Where: Sebastian’s room at the Delta house
Sebastian had spent most of his day so far with his nose in a book, but he wasn't going to be able to ignore it much longer. He was already doing a bad job of ignoring it, since none of the work he'd wanted to get done was finished. He closed the book and pushed it to the back of his desk. Being president of the fraternity had it's perks- having the room to himself was one. However, he'd have liked the distraction of a roommate from his thoughts today. He pushed back and stood up, making sure everything was as neat and organized as it always was. Spencer was coming over to talk. To talk about the fact that the other had said 'I love you,' last night. Just thinking about it made Sebastian's heart race. He wasn't ready for love. That was too much. Too fast. He was the kind of guy who slept with other guys all the time. Just two days ago it had been Blaine who he'd shared a bed with. And only hours later, things were getting really serious on Spencer's end. He ran a hand through his hair and let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding. He guessed it did need to be talked about. He just wasn't looking forward to it.
Spencer was genuinely worried about coming to see Sebastian today. Sebastian had seemed genuinely worried or put off when Spencer used the word 'love' yesterday, and it worried him to think that he'd ruined his chances with Sebastian. Still, he figured they'd have to talk eventually, and Spencer was the kind of guy to want to talk it out sooner rather than later. Spencer followed the usual path to Sebastian's room and knocked on the door. He jumped on the balls of his feet for a few seconds, attempting to pump himself up and relieve himself of his worries. He'd just have to be careful and patient in his wording. Sebastian was great for him, and he couldn't afford to make things awkward between them... Or at least any more awkward than he felt like it was already.
Sebastian paced around his room, trying to distract himself. He was so out of character today; all of his suaveness was just gone. Relationships were hard and he hadn't realized that was what was happening between him and Spencer, though now that he thought about it, it was pretty apparent. There was a knock at the door, and he knew that it was time to confront this. He looked at himself in the mirror, glancing over his hair and face before moving to answer the knock. He pulled the door wide and tried to make sure that his worry wasn't super apparent on his face. "Hey, Spence," he greeted, stepping back a little and gesturing the other inside, ready to close the door and lock it so that they could have their privacy. "Come in."
Spencer stepped inside once Sebastian opened the door. He tried to give his best non-cocky smile, and felt like he'd pulled it off quite nicely. Glancing over at Sebastian, something seemed different about him. He didn't seem super-sexy-focused today. Naturally, Spencer could understand, but he didn't say anything just in case he wasn't reading Sebastian correctly. "So..." Spencer shoved his hands in the pockets of his jeans. "I really wanna say sorry if I freaked you out. Figured that'd be the first thing I say. And I don't say sorry often man, you know that."
Sebastian closed the door and turned the lock as soon as Spencer was inside. He pressed his lips together and turned around, looking over the other. "Well, yeah. I'm not gonna lie, it was a little unnerving. Those are some of the heaviest words on the planet, no matter how you say them. It's a lot to take in," he said, folding his arms in front of himself. Sebastian himself tried not to use them at all. Especially right now. He'd slept with someone else two days ago, how could he just change his mind all of a sudden and declare feelings for the person standing in front of him? Not only was it not fair, but it was misleading to all parties. And he wasn't sure if he felt that strongly yet. "Look. I really like you. I liked going on dates with you. And spending time with you. I just can't use that word yet."
Spencer looked down at Sebastian's feet every so often. He really didn't like that he was being chastised for using the word love, but felt like he could understand where Sebastian was coming from. He gave a little sigh, then smiled softly. "Nah, man... I understand where you're coming from. You say you like me... That's a start." Spencer nodded his head pensively. It was reassuring at least. "If that's true, then you still want to consider going out with me again, right? I guess... That'd be pretty obvious because you let me come over to talk." Spencer noted, taking a step towards Sebastian.
Sebastian felt like he was making Spencer feel bad, judging by how the other was looking at his feet instead of his eyes, and that wasn't something he'd intended. "Of course I want to keep going out with you. Spencer, I have a lot of fun with you. You're cute and you have nice eyes and a great sense of humor." He looked over the other, letting his arms down and reaching one hand over to try to grab Spencer's. "Do you really feel that way?" he asked. "I mean, I just want you to know it's not necessarily wasted."
Spencer looked down at his own feet this time. He couldn't help but blush ever so slightly, letting out a humbled chuckle. "Thanks Sebastian. You're a great guy too." Spencer noticed Sebastian's arm moving out of the corner of his eye, and Spencer let him grab his arm. "Are you asking me if I'm sure I want to continue going out with you? Because obviously I do. And I might have scared you a bit... But I've got great feelings about where we can take this. We'll do this at your pace. Trust me, if there's one thing I'm patient on, it's a great guy."
Sebastian had to admit that he liked the way Spencer looked with a blush spread across his face. It made him smile a little. He did feel a little silly, having a Freshman talk to him like he was experienced. And maybe he was, but still. Sebastian was going to have to figure out what he was thinking, and quick. "Well, then I think it's decided. We should go out again. Tomorrow night. Dress nice," he said, flashing a dapper smile at the other. "Oh, and I think I owe you a hug, hm?" He let go of Spencer and held his arms open. It was his attempt at an apology for causing a weird hiccup in whatever they had going on, and for making a big deal out of Spencer admitting feelings.
Spencer bit his lip as he finally looked up at Sebastian's face. "So you really want to go out again?" Spencer asked cautiously, feeling reassured by his smile. Upon noticing Sebastian opening his arms for a hug, Spencer wholeheartedly accepted it, hugging the thinner boy tight in his arms. "You know I always dress nice bud. But I think you owe me something else." Spencer whispered, his face moving in close to Sebastian's cheek. "Can I?"
Sebastian thought that it was pretty obvious that he wanted to go out again, but then again, he wasn't necessarily the most obvious person in the world. He started to nod and had to refrain from making a sarcastic comment about how yes, he was interested, and then Spencer was hugging him. He wrapped his arms around the other and held strong for a moment, only loosening his grip when he was asked about owing something else. He smirked a little. "I don't know, can you?" he said, letting a little bit of light humor settle over them.
Spencer smiled wider. His spirits had definitely been lifted to the point where he felt very warm inside, truly being able to believe Sebastian's words. Spencer squeezed his body a little before brushing his lips against Sebastian's skin. "Damn right I can." He whispered these words, then lightly pressed his lips against Sebastian's, finally relieving the craving he'd had since their last encounter.
And you’re tempted to do what, exactly? I feel like you’re either going to propose to me or ask me to freeze my eggs so you can use them in 15 years.
Tempting me to consider actually having a kid someday. I’ve always sworn I’m not interested, but now I’m thinking about how perfect my kid would be. Ah, who am I kidding? I’m definitely not father material.
You’re not exactly my type, Seb, but your game is on point. I have to acknowledge and compliment it. You need to show me a thing or two.
I said I’d stop if you wanted me to. You said not to. I assumed that somewhere in there was a little bit of desire for me to keep it up. In any way you want to take it. I’ll show you anything you wanna see, Hunter.
It seems like you can everything, Sebastian. Either way, I’m certain you’ll excel in everything you do. Oh, unfortunately, not, I fell under the weather.
You’re right! I can everything and I definitely excel at anything I do. It’s a shame you missed the event though. I’m sure there are some YouTube videos of it floating around though.
Yes, our hypothetical child would rule the world. Someone worthy of inheriting both of our families’ legacies, that would make my parents very happy. I feel like we have the chance of bringing the chosen one to the world, Sebastian.
Ah, the chosen one. You’re tempting me here, Quinn.
