we don’t talk enough about pining kim during the mailroom-era. obviously jimmy was hopelessly lovesick and mooning around his apartment like a twelve year old with a crush and since he’s so emotive it’s easy to picture, but I think kim was too in her own way. kim who’s so focused and driven and hasn’t lost her head over a crush since she actually was twelve, but now there’s this cute boy who laughs genuinely at her jokes and listens when she talks and brings her snacks when she’s been studying so hard she forgets to eat. and she saves the little post-it doodles he leaves for her even as she’s white-knuckling her way through law school and telling herself that she can’t handle the distraction of a relationship right now. and the absolute worst part is that jimmy gets it, he understands and doesn’t push because whatever he can have is enough and he wants her just as she is and it makes it so much harder because that’s the only thing she’s ever wanted
