ONE OK ROCK has visited Taiwan for two consecutive years. Listening to ONE OK ROCK for the first time, most of the time people will be attracted to the vocalist’s, Taka, fluent English. In their lyrics there are a huge usage of English language. They laughed and said personally they love western rock music, also during their recording their crew are mostly foreigner, so it is unavoidable that they head towards western rock direction during composing. English is also added pretty much in their lyrics.
Also, ONE OK ROCK’s works are composed by the members themselves. The movie 「SPACE PIRATE CAPTAIN HARLOCK」theme song, 《Be the light》, has been translated into several languages. Taking the role of composing, Taka said that this song is written because of the Tsunami disaster. Even though he couldn’t expressed 100% of how the victims felt, he hoped that through the MV and lyrics everyone in every parts and corners of the world will know that Japan is doing her very best in regards to the after math of the disaster. Taka has also told fans during the concert to pray very hard to God that this same disaster will never happen again. This shows that even with their manly style of songs, they have a soft side in them.

This year ONE OK ROCK held a magnificent tour in Europe and Asia, and named it 「Who are you??Who are we??」. They explained seriously that this sentence is actually them greeting the fans. Performing in different parts of the world they are very curious who are the fans? And they also want to know if the fans really know them? That is the reason why they named this tour as that. In the recent years, ONE OK ROCK has successfully toured in different countries and this has widened their knowledge. However, ONE OK ROCK doesn’t feel deeply enough (?), they are looking forward to seeing the fans in the concert introducing ONE OK ROCK music to their friends, and the next time they will bring their friends along.
For bands, concert is the best stage to showcase your talents. Usually performed in LIVE HOUSES in the past, ONE OK ROCK recent tour stages are bigger. Drummer, Tomoya, said actually it doesn’t matter where it is they all like it the same. However, with small venues the distance between the fans and them are closer. This will let them feel the passion of their fans even better. He also added that the difference about rehearsal is that during the real performance there will be audiences, so it feels entirely different. What he likes most is the “togetherness” of those on stage and those below the stage during the concert. Bassist, Ryota, said that concert allows him to relive stress. Guitarist, Toru, added that communication barrier occurs in many countries where they performed, but through concerts he deeply understands that music is something that doesn’t involve where you come from. Coming from the vocalist, Taka, who always speak with charm, said that on stage he can show the real ‘me’, and so through the concert he then will feel ‘Human’. This brilliant sentence made the other members shown praises through their eyes. This is really a charming answer!

When chatting about the habits during performance, ONE OK ROCK said before performing they will gather in a circle and shout to lift up their spirits(?), at the same time a large number of fans have also noticed that Ryota don’t usually wear shirt during concert. To this question, Taka thought for the answer for a while, he said every time they are in Taiwan they cannot resist the passion of the fans. When performing, they always feel as one with the Taiwanese fans. Therefore, 「ONE OK ROCK X台灣＝台灣」 is the best answer in their hearts.
