Jing’an Temple, Nanjing Road Shanghai 📍

The Jing'an Temple existed even before the city of Shanghai was established, and today it is among the best-known places of worship in this Chinese metropolis. During its more than 780-years of history, the temple has been destroyed, rebuilt and renovated many times, and it is famous for its big bronze bell and its Buddha statues.

Yu Yuan Garden at Huangpu District, Shanghai 📍

Yu garden or Yu Yuan garden is an extensive Chinese garden located beside the City God Temple in the northeast of the Old City of Shanghai at Huangpu District, Shanghai. It abuts the Yuyuan Tourist Mart, the Huxinting Teahouse and the Yu Garden Bazaar. Covering over two hectares, Yu Garden is famous for several architecture marvels, including the Big Rockery, the Jade Boulder and so on. At Yu Garden, visitors are able to experience the ancient architecture in China and to take pictures in traditional costumes of Qing Dynasty.

Opening hours: 8:45 - 16:45, closed on Mondays except for national holidays.

Entrance Fee: 40 rmb (Apr-Jun & Sept-Nov) 30 rmb (Jul-Aug & Dec-Mar) Free for children under 4.3ft.

Jade Buddha Temple at Anyuan Road, Shanghai 📍

Jade Buddha Temple, first built in 1882, is a Buddhist temple serenely situated in the bustling Shanghai. It is famous for the two pieces of Jade Buddha.

Opening hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, everyday.

Entrance fee: 20 rmb and an extra of 10 rmb to see the buddha statues.
