"Style is a way of saying who you are without ever speaking"
Style is personal. It doesn’t matter what’s in or what’s fashionable. It’s about what you like and the way you wear it. Your style is YOU!

Feed your Mind…
Reading was definitely one of those things I would do if I had time in my not so wise days. It was too easy to plop down in front of the TV and cut on some random show that destroyed all of my brain cells. After it ended, I had to call up the bestie and talk about the foolishness we just watched. After carrying on for some hours or even days after watching the show because you know its great office conversation as well, I started asking myself, how is this show benefiting me? My answer, it does not, will not, and cannot! How does this relate to my life? My answer again, it does not, it will not and cannot! Is this really how I want to see my people being broadcasted to the world? Absolutely NOT and I refuse to promote or entertain it. So my journey of watching TV shows that degrade the black race ended. Sigh….what to do now?!? I had the need to feel empowered or educated so I started reading. My first book was “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, a great book for anyone looking to attain goals but have a fear of failing. Then my next book was a little on the wild side because I have this huge obsession with fashion…it was “#GirlBoss” by Sophia Amoroso. After reading that book, I begin thrifting with the idea that I would make a profit from selling clothes online. Yea, that never happened!!! I liked the items I bought too much and didn’t want to sell them. Needless to say, my passion for reading began to increase rapidly! I began to read books not for entertainment but for the knowledge that was inside. My book library grew ridiculously. I bought book after book after book and I loved it. I’m doing things that I have never done, like blogging consistently, all because I’m feeding my brain positive, motivational goodness. I’m starting to be more confident and I'm pushing myself out of my comfort zone. Prior too I was stuck in a rut until I picked up reading. I’m not perfectly out of that rut but I damn sure feel better about the direction I’m headed. So my question to you is what are you feeding your mind?!? It’s time to clean up the filth in your mind and open it up to more powerful and meaningful information. Until the next time….
